Food For
Thought

Christmas - the most wonderful time of the year. Granted, some
years I don't find it quite as wonderful as others. I tend to get a
bit blue from time to time. Holidays can be tough when you've
lost a loved one - even for a long time afterward. If ever there's a
time to feel sad, Christmas would probably top the list. But,
that's where the true meaning of Christmas comes in. It's got
nothing to do with presents and Santa, and everything to do with
the birth of Jesus and the promise of eternal life. I'm not knocking Santa Claus and the concept, I just know that good ole Saint
Nick isn't going to get me into heaven. And that, and seeing all
my loved ones who have passed on before me, is something I look
forward to. How awesome is that? Knowing that our time here
on Earth is just a fleeting moment, and that thanks to the life,
death, and resurrection of Jesus, we have the opportunity to
spend eternity together with all the folks we know and love.
Can't beat a deal like that, I don't care who you are.
It seems like our Christmas preparation got put on the back
burner this year. Our tree hasn't even been up long enough to lose
the fake tree smell. Ideally, I like to put the Christmas tree up the
day after Thanksgiving - it's like getting the most holiday bang
for your buck. I will admit it has been a number of years since
I've had it up in that timeframe. And once the tree is decorated
and sparkling with lights, I prefer to have it up for a couple
weeks into January. I don't know if it's because I hate to leave a
bare, unlit spot in the room where a beautiful Christmas symbol
once stood, or if I just hate putting the tree, lights, ornaments,
and paraphernalia away, period. It could go either way, I guess. I
like to put out all kinds of Christmas and winter-related decorations, but this year it just didn't happen. Honestly, I was happy to
at least get the tree up with more than three days to spare before
Christmas. (That's how it worked last year, since we moved the
week before Christmas.) As usual, shopping was left until the last
possible moment as well. Scott and I went on a massive gift-buying reconnaissance mission Monday. I had picked up a few small
things beforehand, but the bulk of the effort was completed with
less than 72 hours to spare.
Even though most things have not gone as anticipated this
Christmas, I’m very grateful for all the big things that did go
right. My father-in-law and sister-in-law are both here to celebrate with us, our nephew is not deployed overseas this year, we
have an amazing one-year-old great niece to smother in hugs and
kisses (as well as her fantastic mommy and daddy), plenty of
food to eat, an amazing church family, we’re healthy, and we’re
safe. It doesn’t get much better than that. My heart and prayers
go out to all our soldiers who are away from their homes and
families, to all those who have lost a loved one, as well as to the
homeless people who don’t have a place to call home, or those
who go hungry. Let’s make sure to be a blessing to those less fortunate and who are hurting. And finally, let’s thank God for the
birth of His son, Jesus. Face it, it’s not Christmas without Christ.

Is America Under Attack Within? Is Our Republic Gpoing To Survive?
President Obama is bypassing and ignoring constitutional limitations on his power. This administration has repeatedly pushed past the limits of executive power. This administration has been seeking ways to act without congress. The media has known this is happening but very little is being done to stop it. Folks this is very dangerous this
is a real threat facing America today. This is quickly moving our country toward rule by a dictatorship.
There is an evil spiritual force that is behind this movement to ruin our law enforcement. Folks this is not Gods
world. There is a lot of evil in our world. We have been protected in America for a couple hundred years because we
have received Gods blessing. We have not experienced the turmoil that many other nations have. We have been in a
civil war - 2 world wars but God has given us victories and peace. Satan has influenced our government leaders to a
point christian virtues don’t mean anything anymore. God help us because he is judging our country right now.
Folks what has happened to America’s leadership. God is dissapointed and angry at the United States for all her
rebellion, living in mortal sin and rejecting Gods laws. Jesus Christ is far from worshiped. God not only is not helping us now he is against us. This is only the beginning folks. God is about to punish all nations. Most people know little or nothing about their God and his Bible.
Satins growing wrath against nations of Israel will bring on the worst suffering in human history and what the
Bible calls the Great Tribulation. The events we see around us are deeply causing hatred. Folks we are never going to
see peace and happiness until Satan is removed and his demons from this earth. But before this happens we are
going to see things happening you have never seen before. Satan will actually try to take on Christ himself in the
greatest battle there ever was. This battle will be half human and half spiritual.
Once Christ defeats Satan and puts him, the false prophet and al their working demons into the bottomless pit as
the Bible tells us they will be there for a thousand years with no escape. Christ will then take his rightful place on the
throne over the earth. Then and only then will we have joy and happiness and peace for eternity. Praise God!

I remember standing at the top of the dock. One of my friends was with me looking down at the water.
There was a fish there. He was just swimming around, kind of in the way of the dive. It seemed like we
were waiting for the fish to move before we took the plunge. Then I got the bright idea to just jump on
him. I said, right before I dove off the dock, “I’ll get him”. And off I went……. The next thing I remember is my eyes popped open and my right hand was pulled up next to my chest. I had the worst pain in the
world. I felt like my shoulder was broken into. Every time my heart would beat, the pain would go out my
right shoulder. I couldn’t move my right arm. It was not doing anything. I remember I was still under
water so I had to swim out but only my left arm would work. With the use of my left arm only, I began to
swim to shore. When I got there, I sat on the bank trying to figure out what had happened. My right arm
would not move and had no feeling. My shoulder was on fire. The pain now was unbearable but I knew I
had to do something so I got up and sat on the side of the dock. The pain now was even worse. I told my
friends that I would have to go to the emergency room, that I must have broken my right shoulder. I tried
to get up, but I was having a lot of trouble. One of my friends got my right arm, then another friend got my
left arm and off we went to the car. As we started up the hill to the car, I felt like I was going into the
clouds. That a peace was coming over me with no pain, almost to the point of passing out. Just then another friend put his hands around my neck, under my ears and held my head up. When he did that the
passing out part went away and the pain came back. We made it to the car and they laid me down. No
one knew where the hospital was, so they drove around and found someone to give them directions. Soon
we reached the hospital. They again took all the positions. One on each arm and one holding my neck.
My parents were away on vacation and remember we didn’t have cell phones back then. The hospital tried
and tried to call them, but they couldn’t reach anybody. I was only 17 years old and they couldn’t do anything without a parents permission. OMG. The pain…………….

As this year closes and another one begins, I would like to thank every one of our advertisers as well as our readers.
This year for me has been a big one. My wife retired in March and I retired in September. The greatest thing that
happened to us this year has been our son surviving an electrocution. He was actually dead for a few moments and
thanks to God, he survived and has even gone back to work. As far as we can tell he has no complications, just a
little wiser, we hope. We lost our oldest son last year and we have never really gotten over that. When the accident
happened to our youngest son…. well you can imagine… We are blessed with grandchildren and are so happy they
are all doing fine. I hope that you have had time to read my few little columns that I have put in this publication.
They are only a fraction of what we are all about. Mostly because I am not a very good writer. At first, I didn’t
even intend to put them in the shopper, but then I thought, “well maybe it will help someone else”. Life is full of
good times and bad times. As an older person I can tell you to enjoy the good times so you can remember them
where there are bad times. Love like you mean it and show it like you feel it. Christmas is here, share it with someone you love, you never know when they may be gone. Remember what this season is all about and why we celebrate. The birth of Christ. The Son of God was born this day….. you know the rest. Thank every single one of

A Marine was attending a college course
between missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The professor - an avowed atheist shocked the class one day when he walked
in, looked toward the ceiling, and said
loudly, "God, If you are real, then I want
you to knock me off this platform. I'll give
you exactly 15 minutes."
The lecture room fell silent and the
professor began his lecture. Ten minutes
went by and the professor proclaimed,
"Here I am God - still waiting."
It got down to the last minute when the
Marine stood up, walked toward the
professor and threw his best punch knocking him off the platform and out cold.
The Marine went back to his seat and sat
down. The other students were shocked
and stunned and sat there
looking on in silence.
The professor came to, noticeably shaken,
looked at the Marine and asked, "What is
the matter with you?
Why did you do that?"
The Marine calmly replied, "God is busy
today protecting America's soldiers who
are protecting your right to behave like an
idiot, so He sent me.
