The USDAA REQUIRES that ALL competitors check-in with the Trial Secretary or their designate BEFORE your first run of the trial. There are 3 different ways to do this. 1) EXPEDITED SELF CHECK-IN: If your entry confirmation indicates that the Trial Secretary has a copy of your permanent jump height card on file for your dog(s) entered in this trial then you may use the “expedited” Self Check-in. Just find the Self Check-in Book which will be on or near the score table, verify that all your information is correct and “check” yourself in. 2) CHECK-IN/DOG DOES NOT NEED TO BE MEASURED: If you have a permanent height card (the hard yellow plastic one or the new white plastic one) and I don’t “have a copy on file” or if you have a temporary height card (blue paper) with 3 signatures awaiting a CMJ, or a printout of your subscriber page from the USDAA web site/check-in letter issued by the USDAA or if your dog is entered in the 26” jump height in the Championship Program or the 22” jump height in the Performance Program; you do not need to have your dog measured before checking in and you can go right to the Check-in Person, at or near the score table). Please be sure and have one of the above with you. 3) DOGS NEEDING TO BE MEASURED: If you don’t fall into either of the above categories then you need to have your dog measured BEFORE you check-in. If you need to be measured you really need to have it done during the allocated time-frames. Thank you. If you have more than one dog entered at this event, those with permanent cards on file will be listed in the Self Check-in Book, and those without a permanent height card on file will be listed with the Trial Secretary/Check-in Person. WORKER’S SCHEDULE Please sign up to volunteer. The signup sheet will be posted at the trial. You’ll receive lunch tickets and snacks, plus receive an entry into our workers raffle for each class that you work. A big THANK YOU to everyone who volunteers. FACILITY RULES No food or drink in the main room of Big Paws. Everyone must clean up after their dogs, if they are caught not doing so, they will be asked to leave. Check your shoes before you run For safety reasons, no stepping over barriers when entering/exiting the rings. When heading down the driveway, no walking dogs on any property to the left of the driveway. This includes the empty field on the left. Property to the right is fine. No dogs in the back training ring. There is no crating in the main building (except for trial secretary and/or trial chairs as determined by the club). Small dogs are no exception. Only dogs that are running in a class should be in the building. Parking Hints: The dumpster located in the rear of the parking lot is emptied on Friday, usually morning and cannot be blocked. Only ½ of the cul-de-sac circle can be used for parking because it is a city street and public buses need to turn around. On Saturday and Monday no parking or unloading in the Little Shop of Howlers spots. They have 4 spots marked with signs, also in front of the groomer. Also the bays after the groomer to the end of the building need to be kept clear. On Saturday and Monday the small black mailbox cannot be blocked. The big metal one next to the store is not used. For the entire weekend there must be room to get around the parking circle in front of Big Paws. This is a fire department requirement. The white fire hydrant is not a working hydrant, and can be blocked. However the yellow one needs to remain clear. No vehicles should unload blocking the parking lot. There are other businesses in the complex and they need to be able to get to their bays. The lower parking lots can be used. There will be no parking where any signs or cones are placed by those businesses. Typically on Sat and Monday only. AND FINALLY JUST A FEW GENERAL THINGS • It is expressly understood that competitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs, family and guests. Any competitor whose dog(s), family, or guests create unnecessary disturbances or engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may at the discretion of the Event Organizing Committee be asked to leave the show site. Entry fees will NOT be refunded. The Contact Agility Event Committee will review all disciplinary issues • A warm up area with a single practice jump will be provided for competitors. No other obstacles may be set up and/or used at the show site for training, warm-up, or any other purpose. • Cleaning up after yourself and your dog(s) at the show site, and at the motels, is a MUST. The Event Committee may dismiss competitors who fail to clean up after their dogs. There shall be no refunds. • We ask that you use the chairs that are already in the arena and not bring in your own chairs. • Crating space is available at Little Paws (heated building adjacent to the main building). The trial site requires a tarp to be placed on the floor underneath your crates. You may setup Friday evening from 5-7pm. Saturday, Sunday and Monday after 6:30am. • DUE to space constraints RV parking is not available. OK, so hopefully that covers everything……………thanks again to everyone that has entered this trial and a double thank you to all of you that volunteer to ‘help out’. Travel safely, see you in Hamden!!!!! George
