recently completed the
graduation ceremony for
Diploma in Travel, Tourism
Economics and Hotel
Management (DTTEHM), conducted by the Department of
Economics of Faculty of Arts.

multi-skilled travel and tourism
professionals who are able to

processes by improving the theoretical concepts, issues and

= Honey
Just take
some honey in
a cup then
apply it directly
to the pimples.
Leave them
alone for 1 hour
and rinse off.
Use a honey
mask, thrice a
week for best
result.
= Lemon
Juice
Take a fresh lemon, squeeze it, and apply
the juice directly to the pimples. Use the
lemon juice regularly on the pimples to cure
it fast.
DTTEHM 5th Year Group
= Honey with Cinnamon
Take one tbsp cinnamon powder, in a cup,
and mix with lemon juice. Then apply the
paste on the infected skin surface. Let it dry
for 45 minutes and then wash out. Regular
use of this lemon-cinnamon pack does help
in getting rid of pimples.
= Toothpaste
Apply white toothpaste to the affected
area and let it dry. Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry with a
clean towel.

As a part of the graduation ceremony, a new book, on the future prospects
of the travel and tourism, was
launched.
At the graduation ceremony, a total
of 13 awards were given.
= Lime Juice and Almond Oil
Mix two to three drops of freshly extracted lime juice with almond
oil and apply it on the affected
areas. Keep overnight and wash off
the following morning.
= Tomato Juice
Tomato juice can be another
alternative for curing pimples.
Apply it and let it dry on the skin
for half an hour. Rinse it off with
water.
= Egg White
Separate one egg white from its yolk.
Dab your finger into the egg white. Coat
your pimple with egg white. Let the egg
white dry. Rub the egg white off with warm
water.

The
Batch Top of DTTEHM 2012/2013 was awarded to
Ashanthi Perera.
The Second Best Diploma Holder, and the student
with excellent leadership, was Hasanka Wijesinghe,
while the Third Best Diploma Holder was Ikshula
Weerasinghe.

= Cloves
Take a few pods of cloves and roast them
dry in a pan. Powder them and add a little
curd to make a paste. Dab the paste on the
pimples and let it dry. Wash off. Use this
treatment regularly if you are prone to pimples. It’s very good for people who have oily
skin.

A
midst the celebrations of Christmas, and the dawn of the New
Year, the Mount Lavinia Hotel did not fail to ignite the true spirit
of the season in sharing with the less fortunate and spreading
the joy to the most deserved.
As they have continued to do, for more than 15 years, the
Management and staff of the Mount Lavinia hotel hosted over 50 children from the neighbouring fishing village, and Mihindu
Pre-school, for a Christmas party.
The Mihindu Pre-school was founded by the hotel and
at present houses 24 children, who are mostly from the
fishing village, near the hotel. The children enjoyed a
magic show and were treated to snacks and sweets.
They were also presented with school bags and stationary for the new school year.

50 children, from Clarion Home and the SOS Children’s
Village, were hosted for a Christmas party, at the hotel, with gifts
from Santa, music to dance to and a wonderful Christmas dinner. They were also able to witness the Singing Christmas Tree
at the Courtyard.

The Lions Club of Colombo Torrington, one of the
oldest Lion ladies clubs, in Sri Lanka, with two
decades of humanitarian service to the community,
had their fund-raiser recently.
It took the form of a musical evening, called
"SURAMYA RATHRIYA," and was held at the Lion
Activity Center, Ethul Kotte.
The President of the Lions Club of Colombo
Torrington is Mala Witharana,and she is seen in the

Sandanayaka, and First Lady, Chandani
Sandanayaka, to their fund-raiser.
