YOUTH NEWS
As we begin the New Year, our
Wednesday nights in youth are
changing. We are going to be dividing into three different groups within our youth time; a girls group, a
group for those who are wanting
more of a challenge, and a group for
those who are wanting to learn what
it means to be a Christian and also
more about the Bible.

A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR
~ Moving Forward Into the New Year ~
Hosea 6:3 ~ “Then shall we know, if we follow
the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the
morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain,
as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”
In the New Year, you may be wondering what is
going to happen. Sunday night I shared a story
about some men who were on a leaky old ship in
the middle of a rough and stormy sea. One of them
asked the Captain, “Are we safe?” He said, “Well,
the boilers are weak and may explode at any moment. The ship is old and taking on water. To be
very honest with you, we may go up, or we may go
down, but at any rate, we are going on.” And that
is the way we are as we face this new year of
2015. Jesus may come and we will go up. We may
die, and go down and then up. But at any rate, we
are going on with Jesus Christ. As we reflect on
this past year, let us allow the Holy Spirit to invade
our hearts, convicting and drawing us to Himself.
May we ask for wisdom, courage and faith to continue on, whatever happens in this new year of excitement and anticipation.
There are Four Keys to maximizing your life in
2015. They are the ABC’s to the New Year:
A - Assume Responsibility for your life. The fact
is we cannot control the circumstances that will
happen to us in the next 365 days, but we can control two things: our actions and reactions.
B - Believe you can change. We need to stop saying, “I can’t” and start saying, “I can.” Paul said,
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). The good news of the
Bible is that God wants to use you. He will give
you the power to change if you will believe and
trust Him.
C - Clarify what is really important. God has
given each of us an incredible gift called the freedom of choice. We define what is good by standing
upon God’s Word and writing down our values as
to what is really important to us. Clarify the important.
D - Don’t wait to begin. Three life-changing
words are “Do it now!” Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, “If
you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get
anything done.”
That’s the way to maximize your New Year.
Loving you, Pastor Mike
