Charles Johnson Director, Iberville MSA East The application process begins in November. An application is sent to every household in Iberville Parish via direct mail. Applications are also available at all Iberville Parish Public Schools, the School Board Office, and the public library. Applications are accepted from December to February 13, 2015. Once applications are received, the Administrative Assistant of District Initiatives reviews all applications for accuracy. A letter is sent to parents stating that the Academy has received your application, and a log is kept in the order of applications received. A public lottery will be held on February 27, 2015 with results made available until November of the same year. In November, the waiting list is void. The Academy has partnerships with LSU, ULM and BRCC to provide students with numerous college experiences and project-based learning strategies. NOTE: Students will have the opportunity to take honors, advanced placement, and dual enrollment courses. In order to qualify for these courses one of the following criteria must be met: Advanced Placement (AP) courses: must have (1) maintained an A or strong B average in the previous year’s course, (2) scored Good or Excellent on the EOC, or earned a composite score of 19 on ACT Plan Test and an 18 or higher sub-score in the content area, and (3) teachers’ recommendations. Dual Enrollment (DE): must have (1) maintained an A or strong B average in the previous year’s course, (2) scored Good or Excellent on the EOC, (3) earned an ACT composite score of 18 with ELA subscore of 18 and math subscore of 19, and (4) teachers’ recommendations. *PLAN scores are used as a predictor. Students must score 19 or higher on PLAN test.
