Our Mission: Fundraise for the Elderly
About Us
Our vision is to ensure a quality of life for the
elderly now and to the end of life. Langley
Care Foundation is a registered charity that
raises funds to benefit the residents of Langley
Lodge.
Funds raised by the Foundation have been
used to purchase equipment for residential
care, such as ceiling lifts, and to provide staff
hours for delivering a range of therapeutic
programs such as music therapy, horticulture
and pastoral care.

Scholarships Awarded
The Langley Care Foundation is pleased to
announce that scholarships have been
awarded to four individuals to pursue their

have been awarded scholarships to continue
studies related to nursing. As well, an
employee has received a scholarship to
continue his studies in the Diagnostic Medical
Sonography program and a summer student
employee will use her scholarship to further
her studies toward becoming a Dietician.
The Langley Care Foundation Scholarship
provides assistance to staff and registered
volunteers of Langley Lodge who wish to take
furtherr education to improve their knowledge
and skills in the health care field.
Wouldn’t we all like to sleep like a
baby?
A good night’s sleep is important to everyone
and as we age it seems it becomes more
evasive. A good mattress is an important part
of the equation.
In a complex care home like Langley Lodge,
residents spend a significant amount of time
either sleeping orr laying on their beds. In
some cases, this is because a person may
struggle with basic movements and have
limited capacity to stand or even be seated.
The mattresses used by our Langley Lodge
residents have a recommended life cycle of
seven years. They have exceeded their
service period and regrettably now offer
limited support.
Due
ue to generous donations of our supporters
we were able to replace a number of our
mattresses in 2014. Our target for 2015 is to
replace a further 70 mattresses.
mattresses
The estimated cost per mattress is $500.
Our goal is to raise $35,000 for this
project. We need your help in
i reaching
our goal.
Your gift will make a difference for
someone every single day.
