! JANUARY 11, 2015 Mark’s Mark... Why Be A Christian? Many people just don’t see the need to be a Christian. Consider the following reasons of why it is important for you to have a relationship with Christ. Because God loves you. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Because of the price Christ has already paid for your soul. “...While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Because the world’s best people are Christians. “I thank my God on every remembrance of you.” Philippians 1:3 Because Christianity is the best way of life. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man’s a!.” Ecclesiastes 12:13 Because Christians have the privilege of prayer. “...The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16 Because Christianity is the path to true happiness. “...I have come that they may have life and they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 Because Christianity makes us like Christ. “Let each of you have the mind of Christ.” Philippians 2:5 Because Christ gives us courage and strength to face problems. “...but God is faithful, who wi! not a!ow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation wi! also make the way of escape; that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 Because Christianity gives us reason to live and to die. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21 Because of the Christian’s hope of heaven. “And God wi! wipe away every tear #om their eyes; there sha! be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There sha! be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 The better question to ask is, “How could anyone not be a Christian?” “Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 Our Vision: Striving to be the Hands of Jesus Our Values: Worship, Spiritual Growth, Edification, Christian Living, Outreach, Benevolence ! ! JANUARY 11, 2015 PRAYERS Regarding the Sick Pat Cornwell, the lady we were trying to help get set up to live in an apartment, fell and broke her hip. She had surgery yesterday and is in room 330 at Baptist Health. Her spirits would be lifted if everyone sent her a card. (Don't forget, you can go to their website and send an e-‐card.) Identify yourself as a member of the Benton church of Christ. She has no close family for support and needs to know somebody cares. Logan Darden, grandson of Dan and Kenna Jones, will have an MRI Friday at Vanderbilt to determine the cause of his headaches. Van “Tinker” Siress family member of Phillip Rudd and Steve Bennett, had surgery Wednesday at Vanderbilt for a non malignant brain tumor. He has swelling on the brain and a blood clot, and the family was called in.
