What is on the 2014 GED® test?
The 2014 GED® test is designed to measure the skills and knowledge equivalent to a
high school course of study and supports and
an adult’s successful transi`on to careers or
college.
The GED® test has four content areas and takes a li]le over seven hours:
● Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLS) - 150 minutes (including a 10-minute break)
● MathemaRcal Reasoning - 90 minutes
● Science- 90 minutes
● Social Studies- 90 minutes

Do my scores from previous versions carry over or do I have to start all over?
No, scores from the previous version DO NOT carry over. All scores expired at the end of
2013. Candidates not passing must start over with the new version.

What are the passing scores for the new test?
Minimum of 150 on each subtest and a minimum of 600 on the en`re ba]ery (all 4
tests combined).

The ParaProfessional Test Prearation Program is designed to assist future paraprofessionals (teaching assistants) in becoming
ready to successfully take and pass the “Official ParaPro Test” and meet the definition of
“highly qualified” as set forth in the No Child
Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. The training
program addresses the full set of skills – reading, math, writing, and the application of each in the classroom – included
on the official test. The program also includes detailed test descriptions, sample questions with answers and explanations,
and helpful test-taking strategies. All participants are required
to take a diagnostic test prior to enrolling in class, must be at
least 21 years old and required to meet a minimum basic skills

You will have your own computer, and all courses are hands-on. Learning new computer skills will be fun in a friendly environment. See the schedule on page 13 for course dates and times. Learn concepts that can be applied to any version of
these programs. Our courses are currently being taught on the Windows 7 operating system, but a Windows 8 Station is also
accessible for demonstration.
Introduction to Computers
This course is for those with little or no computer knowledge. Let us take the frustration out of your computer
learning. This instructor led course leads you through
the maze of computer terminology and concepts. Learn
what you need to know to care for and make a new
friend with your personal computer. Topics ranging from
using a mouse to creating/managing files & folders and
everything in between will be covered. This course will
be hands-on using the Windows
operating system and is designed
for adults of any age.
Basic Internet and Email
Learn to surf the World Wide Web. This course will cover
everything from Internet searches to security concerns.
Plus you will actually send and receive electronic mail or
Email. Attachments and maintaining your Inbox will also
be covered.
Introduction to Microsoft Word
Word is an application that can be used to create, edit,
format and print a variety of documents. You will be introduced to Word features and the steps required to use
the features effectively. Instructor guided step-by-step
exercises provide an opportunity for practicing new
skills and applying your new knowledge to real world
situations.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel
Excel is a spreadsheet application that you can use to
manage, analyze and present data. You will be introduced to Excel features and the steps required to use the
features correctly. Instructor guided step-by-step exercises provide an opportunity for practicing new skills and
applying your new knowledge to real world situations.
Introduction to Digital Photography
Learn to use a digital camera and the features your
camera has to offer. Learn how to transfer photos from
your camera to your computer. Edit, crop, resize, rename
and save a copy of your photo. Bring your camera and
images. We will share information and use photo-editing
software to enhance photos. See your photographic skill
increase with each class. A digital camera with memory
card is required. Computer laptop optional, with Picasa
(free) software loaded.
NOTE: Basic computer knowledge or completion of
Introduction to Computers is helpful.
Intermediate Digital Photography
Expand your skill of getting excellent photos with your
camera. This class covers in detail the techniques of manual exposure, correct color balance and composition. The
instructor will also cover the technique of using flash photography indoors and outside for best effect. Learn simple
tools for consistently good photography in varied lighting
conditions. A digital SLR camera with memory card is
required. Computer laptop optional. Separate electronic
flash optional. Completion of an Introduction to Digital
Photography course is REQUIRED.
Receive quality, hands-on training at an affordable price. The
cost for each course is $85.00. Seniors are welcome in any of
the courses and may be eligible to receive a Senior Discount.

You must be on time to test. Please allow one hour per
area for testing. IMPORTANT: Late arrivals will not be
admitted once testing has begun. You will receive test
results by mail within 3 business days.
The GED® preparation program will prepare you
to take and pass the Official GED® Test in the areas
of: Math, Reasoning through Language Arts,
Science, and Social Studies.
GED® preparation is essential to help students 17 years
and older succeed in passing the GED® Exam.
We will customize a program to fit your needs.

FEE: $95 per semester
(Includes books, materials, and diagnostic testing)
*Students 17-19 years old must have official high school
withdrawal papers prior to enrollment and/or testing.
