PIPING RULES

All competitors to be members of the Piping and Dancing Assn of NZ (Membership
application forms available on the day).
To be conducted under the rules of the Piping & Dancing Assn of NZ.
Competitors must report to board stewards prior to each event otherwise their right to
compete may be forfeited.
Competitors must compete in same order as the draw or as directed by the board steward
and should have pipes tuned in readiness.
Tuning time on the board must be kept to an absolute minimum (not to exceed 3 minutes)
All competitors must be suitably attired in Highland Dress when competing and at the
prize giving.
Competitors to play in one grade only. Small music grade is also the competitor’s
Piobaireachd grade.
Novice Event is for competitors who have not won a Novice competition before and have
not competed at a National Event.
Paeroa entry fees and prize money are noted above.
All winners must be personally present to receive their prize.
The Judges’ decisions will be final.
