Kumarchand Singh E-mail: [email protected] As part of ongoing training programs, with focus on the needs of the students, researchers and government employees of North-Eastern states of India, the Indian Statistical Institute, North-East Centre is organizing a Workshop on Statistical Methods and Applications during January 30-February 02, 2015 at the Department of Statistics, Manipur University, Imphal, Manipur. The workshop will involve lectures and hands-on sessions using SPSS (Statistical Packages for Social Sciences). Participants who wish to use their own laptops during the workshop should have a pre-installed SPSS. Target Group: The target participants are post-graduate students, Ph.D. scholars, researchers and teachers in academic Institutions/Universities of North-Eastern states of India, preferably with knowledge of graduate level Mathematics/Statistics or employees of Government offices of North-Eastern states of India who are using Statistical techniques to analyze data. Course Content: Data visualization, Basic Statistics, Regression methodology (simple, multiple & logistic), ANOVA etc. Workshop Charges: There is no charge for training or fees for registration in the workshop. Financial Support: Outstation participants will be reimbursed up to Rs. 700.00 per day for at most 6 days on account of food and accommodation against proper receipts. Such participants will have to make their own arrangement for boarding and lodging. Accommodation is available for a limited number of participants on first come first serve basis. There is no daily allowance for local participants. However, lunch and tea will be provided during workshop to all participants. AC II train fare/bus fare by shortest route will be reimbursed against submission of the ticket to outstation participants. No payment shall be made without proper document. They have to submit hard copy of the filled in application with proper endorsement at the time of joining the workshop, otherwise their candidature will be canceled.
