Dear OLP,
So in the end, what matters. As I was praying in church this morning, I was well let’s just say I
was angry, perhaps a little overwhelmed. I am confident this happens to a lot of us at times. I
have often told the Lord I am angry about this or that. I thought about dying. Let me rephrase
that statement. I wasn’t wanting to die, I was thinking what if I was in a dire situation about to
die or some really serious situation. What would matter? If I was in a dire position would any
of the things I was stressed or angry about matter? The answer was, No. What would matter
is Christ, my relationship, my faith, am I in a state of grace. I was reminded as I became less
of the above, that Jesus Christ is first, Christ is the answer and in the end, that’s what matters.
P.S. Have you committed to increasing your prayer life yet? Please
put your commitment in the glass jar in front of the Blessed Mother
mosaic.
START WITH PRAYER
“Here are some of my prayer ideas:
1. I subscribe to “Encouragement for Today” . . . a daily devotion and prayer reading. . . I read it every morning on my phone.
2.
3.
4.
5.
I have books with short devotions around the house . . . quick reads throughout the day.
We pray together at all meals, bedtime, and on the way to school and other places.

a note from t/j….
Our journey continues…. Jesus gave us not only the gift of
the Lord’s Prayer, but also the context in which it should be
understood and prayed. With this in mind, the following
weeks will reflect on the greatest of prayers.
The Our Father consists of seven petitions to our merciful
Father in heaven. The first three petitions relate to God and
the right way of serving him. The last four petitions present our basic human need to our Father in heaven.

“Jesus turned and saw them following Him and said to
them, “What are you looking for?”
John 1:38
What are you looking for? Are you wasting your time
looking for the material comforts of the world? Or, is
your heart longing for something deeper that can only be
found by spending time with God? Take time, each day,
in silence and ask the Lord what it is that He wants you to
do.
