SPE/NEWS Qatar Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (QSPE) hosted a presentation on High End Coiled Tubing (CT) Evolution. October 2010, The Qatar Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (QSPE) has hosted a presentation on High End Coiled Tubing (CT) Evolution held in the Intercontinental Hotel on the 10th of October. Presented by one of the most renowned industry professionals with 23 years in the field, Mr. Lance Portman, the Director of BJ Services’ Coiled Tubing Research and Engineering in Canada, listed and explained the most common and leading edge technology of CT applications in use today such as difficult sand clean outs, world record perforating with CT, rotating jet technology, annular fracturing and acid tunneling with CT in carbonate formations to name a few. Amongst the audience who got together and shared their extensive knowledge and expertise were the key organizers of the meeting namely: Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Al‐Thani, The Chairperson to QSPE and Deputy Managing Director of Maersk Oil Qatar, Mr. Sultan M.
