Please consult your GSEOK Yearly Timeline for reminders to add to your January “to do” list. Troop financials are due to the SU Financial Consultant. Troops may not participate in the cookie sale without having turned in their Troop Financial Report (#300F). All troop leaders, assistant leaders and cookie managers must have completed a volunteer application and background release form. Check with your marketing and membership executive if you have questions on status of volunteer forms. Follow up on recruitment event contacts – if a girl cannot make the meeting of the troop she was assigned, refer her name to the service unit team so they can help her find alternatives. Make sure all troops are trained. Troop orders are due January 12. Have you made sure all troops and girls are registered before they sell cookies? This year girls may not begin to sell until their membership is confirmed and they are uploaded into eBudde. Make sure that service unit cookie coordinators know they are not to give out any cookie materials to troops that have not registered. Troops should have turned in Fall Troop Financial Reports (Form #300F) in order to sell cookies now. Important Cookie Sale Dates: Direct Sales begin February 7. Booth Sales February 20 – March 22. Make sure everyone is set for the cookie sale. Remind leaders that this not only provides support to the troop but also supports the council so that troops have additional program opportunities and services like campsites, events, and financial assistance. Call attention to items in the Cookie Sale News. Order forms for Church Inserts to use Girl Scout Sunday or Sabbath are due Friday, January 23, 2015. Explain to new leaders what these are and that it is a FREE way to let the community know that Girl Scouts wants each girl to be active in her faith. Finalize plans for the Cookie Kickoff Event. Finalize plans for Thinking Day activities. Explain to the new leaders what Thinking Day means. Volunteer Conference is on Saturday, January 24, 2015. All adult volunteers are invited to attend. This event will feature enrichment classes on topics varying from Pinterest Party to Astronomy, Leatherworks, Sewing, Cookie Rookie University, Melted Crayon Art, STEM activities, Photography and many more fun filled learning opportunities.
