First of all, Emunah365 is very happy and proud to report
that there was an amazing response to our Tishrei issue both from parents, as well as of course, from our beloved
campers! (and no, we don’t just mean the delicious free
donuts from Gombos!) And with that in mind, we are excited
to present you with our next issue…
Two months have past since we’ve last spoke and the
weather outside has gotten quite a bit colder. In fact, its ice
cold now, and will probably keep getting colder by the day…
I’m sure we are all doing our best to keep warm (and healthy)
but what happens when it just gets SOOO SOOO COLD
that our coats, mittens, and scarves don’t seem to be doing
the
trick?
What
can
possibly
be
done
to
fight
these
freezing
temperatures?!?
Any idea? That’s right! You got it!
All you need to do is simply wrap yourself in all the warm
and cozy memories of your amazing summer spent at Camp
Emunah, and you will be cold no more! – GUARANTEED!
This issue has been graciously sponsored in honor of the wedding of
Kussy Lipsker and Rosie Kievman
For info regarding sponsoring prizes or to dedicate a future issue

We
are
confident
that
Emunah365
can
help
trigger
these
memories – keeping you warm and healthy and away from
the doctor all winter long!
A STORY WITH OUR REBBE
Rabbi Sholom Hecht (of Hecht’s
bookstore on Coney Island in Flatbush,
NY) was Zoiche to have had many private
Yechidusin with the Rebbe. In fact, he was
one of very few people who were privileged
to be able to meet with the Rebbe at any
time they would like.
was very surprised. Why would the Rebbe
be wishing him a “Happy New Year” on the
non-Jewish new year?
At some point during the Yechidus the
Rebbe turned to Rabbi Hecht and wished
him a “Happy New Year!” Rabbi Hecht
Seeing the puzzled look on Rabbi Hecht’s
face, the Rebbe explained that Rabbi
Levi Yitzchok of Berdichev used to wish
his congregants a “Happy New Year”
on January 1st as well. The Rebbe said
that this practice was based on Kapitel
87 (Posuk Vov) in Tehillim where Dovid
Hamelech says “Hashem Yispor Bichsov
Amim..” Hashem counts when the nonJewish people write – meaning – change
the year on their calendars!
Did You Know?
365 days and a leap year only adds
1 day (February 29) making it 366.
The most common one used
today is known as the Gregorian
Calendar. It is a Solar Calendar,
which means that its days
indicate the location of Earth as it
moves around the sun. A regular year
on the Gregorian Calendar consists of
Our Jewish or Hebrew Calendar
is a lunisolar calendar, meaning
that months are based on lunar
months, but years are based on
solar years. The Hebrew lunar
year is about eleven days shorter
than the solar cycle, which is why
a full month (Adar) is added in a Jewish
leap year once in every two or three years,
for a total of seven times per 19 years.
One time Rabbi Hecht had a Yechidus with
the Rebbe on the morning of January 1st.
Did you know that there are more than
40 different kinds of calendars
used throughout the world?
