FEBRUARY SERMON INFORMATION (VM) NEXT SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST COMMUNION SERMON: “AUTHORITY DEMONS” SCRIPTURE: MARK 1:21-28 Taco Lunch Next Sunday Welcome Pastor Nathan Tabelisma to Booneville UMC Beginning February 1st, Booneville UMC will be led by Pastor Nathan Tabelisma. Pastor Tabelisma spent 40 years at the pulpit before his retirement, and served at both the largest and smallest churches in the Philippines during his service there. His brother Emmanuel is pastor at Maple Grove UMC. Pastor Tabelisma is joined by his wife Reby, whose musical talents will be much appreciated when our organist Alice is unavailable. Reby has a previous connection with our churches: she attended undergraduate school with Pastor Judith. The C.I.A. Youth will be hosting a Taco Lunch on February 1st, right after church. The money raised from the free will donation will go to support Animal Lifeline of Iowa, a special-needs, no-kill animal shelter. We will also be accepting donations for the animals on this day. We need cat/dog food, treats, toys, bedding, puppy pads and monetary donations to cover the vet bills. These items should be in new or like new condition. See Crystal with any questions. Thank you for your support. Thanks to Our Photographers (VM/BV) Family Game Night (VM) We appreciate the wonderful pictures provided by our photographers. In particular, thanks to Margo Suckow for capturing moments from the Christmas Eve candlelight services and for pictures of our new members; Stacy Peterson for Children’s Christmas pictures; Beth Keyt for the lovely picture of the VM church in fall which will be used on our web site; and Chris Bertelson for all the pictures he both took and wangled from others. We are having a Family Game Night at the church on February 22nd from 5-8 PM. Bring a dish to share. Invite a family you know from the neighborhood. Come for games or just good conversation. Exercise Your Faith (VM) Do your heart and body some good: Come tomorrow to the Exercise Your Faith group’s weekly meeting for some exercise and encouragement in a relaxed atmosphere.
