Education College who now seek applications from suitably qualified and experienced
candidates for the post of Hairdressing lecturer (sickness cover)
The post holder will facilitate or teach on a range of courses and levels of provision
within the Hairdressing curriculum area under the guidance of the course leader,
coordinator or Programme Area Leader, contributing to ensuring that exemplary
standards of teaching and learning are reached and maintained
This post is offered on a fractional basis, working a minimum of nine hours per week
usually between the core hours of 9.00am and 9.00pm with an expectation that the post
holder will undertake evening classes and attend evening events as required.
The successful candidate will possess a degree or appropriate professional or
vocational qualification to minimum level 3, a teaching qualification and the ability to
consistently deliver good or better teaching.

To facilitate or teach on a range of courses and levels of provision within the Hairdressing
curriculum area under the guidance of the Course Leader or Programme Area Leader,
contributing to ensuring that exemplary standards of teaching and learning are reached and
maintained.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The following are Job Specific responsibilities for this position
1. To act as a member of a course team delivering full and / or part time
programmes under the guidance of the Course Leader
2. To produce lesson plans as required
3. To support learners on resources based learning or practical programmes in
workshops, one to one or distance learning settings
4. To maintain all necessary documentation according to awarding body and
college guidelines and to liaise with moderators and / or external verifiers as
required
5. To maintain and track appropriate student records accurately and efficiently as
required
6. To undertake research and updating as may be necessary to maintain currency
of subject knowledge
7. To work as a team member within the curriculum section, contributing to the
development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of provision
8. To support and assist students with applications for employment or other
educational opportunities as required
9. To provide cover for absent colleagues within agreed parameters
10. To facilitate high quality teaching and learning so students of varying ability and
differing backgrounds achieve their potential
11. To assist with student recruitment and enrolment as required
12. To operate within all relevant College Policies and Procedures
