A Huge THANK YOU!
We have officially begun the new year of
2015. I would like to begin by thanking our
entire Mary Queen Community for once
more supporting our Diocesan Services
Fund (DSF). This past year, 2014, we
were given a goal of $156,000.00 to meet, which is
quite an undertaking. However due to your generosity
and giving spirit, we not only met our goal, but
exceeded it! Fifty percent of the amount exceeded is
returned back to Mary Queen. I sincerely thank you for
your generosity and willingness to support all the
efforts of our Archdiocese.

Stewardship Prayer
Almighty and ever-faithful Lord, gratefully
acknowledging Your mercy and humbly admitting
our need, we pledge our trust in You and each other.
Filled with desire, we respond to Your call for
discipleship by shaping our lives in imitation of
Christ. We profess that the call requires us to be
stewards of Your gifts. As stewards, we receive Your
gifts gratefully, cherish and tend them in a
responsible manner, share them in practice and love
with others, and return them with increase to the
Lord.
We pledge to our ongoing formation as stewards
and our responsibility to call others to that same
endeavor. Almighty and ever-faithful God, it is our
fervent hope and prayer that You who have begun
this good work in us will bring it to fulfillment in
Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Social
Young professionals and college students (ages 18-35) are invited

Study. We will spend time each week in prayer and focusing on

Choose one of the following activities as a way to further
reflect on the Sunday readings:
•
What can your family do this week to show others that
you believe in the Good News?
•
As a family, read stories of saints who showed their belief
in the Good News. Discuss: How were the lives of others
affected by this person's faith in Jesus?

sessions in the of Spring of 2015. Adult

Church and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit contact

•
Jesus calls us to be fishers of people. If you were going to
catch people for Jesus, what kind of bait would you need?
As a family, make a list of ways each individual’s life and your
family life is influenced by your faith in Jesus. After
brainstorming the list, talk about a few of the items. Finally,
decide on one thing your family will do this week to put into
practice the faith you share.

Following Jesus costs something. Not a price we
pay with things, but by giving Him ourselves. He
wants our trust in his plans, our attention in worship,
our time in doing good works, our talents shared
with others, and yes, a portion of our blessings in
thanksgiving.
Here are some of young followers of Jesus:
Dana B., Ellen B., Megan B., Annie H.,
Erin H., John W. H., Max N., Aidan S.,
Arden S., Avery S., Ethan S., Katie S., Kirstin S.,
Ingrid S., and William S.
Their collection envelopes show that they helped,
played, sang, camped, played sports and went to
Cub Scouts AND came to Mass to thank God for it
all. You are friends of Jesus.

Mary Queen Women’s Ministry
Annual Retreat
Proverbs 31 – God’s Ideal Woman
What does this Godly Woman of Proverbs 31 have to
say to us today? Does she have relevance for us in the
21st Century? Is she “wild” or is she godly? Is she like
Eve, or is she like Mary? Let us journey together to hear
her speak to us with her tongue, her hands, her wisdom,
her works, and her attitude. You may be young --- You
may be old --- You may laugh --- You may cry. But come
and meet her anyway.
Who is the Proverbs 31 Woman?

Ladies of Mary Queen! The next Women’s Ministry
meeting is Monday February 9th, at 7:00 PM, in the mini
hall. If you have never attended one of our meetings, I
ask you to consider joining us and learning more about
our mission. There are no dues and all women of the
parish are automatically members. Being part of the
Women’s Ministry activities and events is a wonderful
way of demonstrating your Stewardship. There is always
something to fit how you would like to participate with
your special time, talents or treasures.
The Women’s Ministry continues its commitment this
month to the Mary Queen Food Pantry, please consider
donating one or more of the following personal hygiene
products when you come to the meeting: bath soap,
deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner,
shaving cream, razors, toilet paper, and women’s
feminine product. For more information, please visit
www.maryqueencatholicchurch.org. If you have any
questions or would like to be included in the Mary Queen
Women’s Ministry e-mail distribution, please contact
Phyllis Rinehart at [email protected]. Hope to
see you there!
