Forest Legality Alliance Updates
FLA staff will provide an overview of our recent work and plans for the second phase of the FLA, including results
from the membership survey (October 2014); the FLA strategy moving forward; updates to the online risk tool;
and updates to the Sustainable Procurement Guide. We will also be introducing new FLA staff members Tina
Schneider and Jonathan Mason who joined the team in 2014.

Conversion Timber and Timber Legality
This session will begin with a presentation on the emerging problem of conversion timber from illegal clearing of
forest lands for other uses, such as commodity agriculture, mining, hydropower, and other infrastructure projects.
The presentation will be followed by responses from a panel of private sector representatives and a discussion
about challenges in exercising due care for conversion timber. Jessica McGlyn will serve as moderator.


