The contents of this Circular Minutes must be brought to the notice of all eligible Employees on your
establishment without delay, including those in the district offices. Institutions must notify all
employees who qualify even if they are absent from their normal workplaces.
DIRECTION TO CANDIDATES
1. The following documents must be submitted:
a) Application for Employment Form (Z83), which is obtainable at any Government Department
or from the website - www.kznhealth.gov.za;
b) Certified copies of highest education qualification and professional registration certificates not copies of certified copies. and
c) Curriculum Vitae; e-mail address / fax number must be provided please and
d) A certified copy of Identity Document - not a copy of a certified copy.
2. The reference number must be indicated in the column provided on form Z83, e.g. Reference

OF POSTS : 1 SALARY SCALES GRADE 1 : R 122 085 ‐ R 137 400 per annum GRADE 2 : R 145 767 – R 164 061 per annum : R 172 506 – R 212 157 per annum GRADE 3 Other benefits: 13th Cheque, Housing allowance (Employee must meet prescribed requirements.) Medical Aid (optional) MINIMUM REQIREMENTS  Grade 12 or equivalent qualification  Certificate of Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse  Current Registration with SANC to Practice (2015) EXPERIENCE  GRADE 1: No experience needed  GRADE 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as Staff Nurse.  GRADE 3 : A minimum of 20 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse  Certificate of service endorsed by Human Resources must be attached as proof of experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines  Knowledge of nursing prescripts and procedures.  Knowledge of Health prescripts.  Good communication, inter‐personal, co‐ordination and liaison skills.  Problem solving skills KEY PERFOMENCES AREAS:  To render quality nursing care in accordance with the scope of practice as laid down by the nursing act and to contribute to optimal health care under the supervision of a professional nurse.  Monitor vital signs and observe reaction to medication and treatment in the Clinic.  Promote and maintain Hygiene, comfort and reassurance of patients.  Supervise and maintain fluid balance.  Apply infection control measures.  Identify nutritional need of patient with assistance of a senior nurse.  Maintain accurate patient’s records and statistics in the clinic..  Assess the basic self‐care needs of patient.  Provide health education according to knowledge and scope of practice of an enrolled nurse.  Co‐ordinate, organize and control therapeutic activities, personnel and equipment under the supervision of a registered nurse.  Maintain and improve quality in the Clinic  Order stock and equipment in a cost effective manner.  Report loss or damage immediately.
