Have you ever discussed the outcome of a disciplinary committee with colleagues? This is your chance to take part – Gordon Hockey, RCVS Registrar, will be presenting a fictional disciplinary case to delegates, with individual teams serving as mock-DCs. Whether you throw the book, or temper the iron of justice with mercy, it’s up to you to hear the evidence, decide the case, and pronounce judgement. You be the DC!

Yesterday’s talk on ‘preventing a difficult student’ was all well and good, but what about when you’ve already got a difficult student? How to deal with difficult students is a common request for help from our clinical coaches. What does difficult mean? Are they purposefully being awkward or are they lacking in skills, motivation or understanding? What can we do to tap into the potential of young people joining the practice? In this session we will explore how we can create the right environment for students to do well.
