The Superintendent of Auburn City Schools plans to recommend

The Superintendent of Auburn City Schools plans to recommend Adam Winegarden
as the ACS Director of Football Operations and new varsity head football coach at
Auburn High School to the Board of Education later today.
Winegarden, who has served as Fairhope High School’s head football coach since
2012, has been in that role at the high school level since 2010. He had a successful
two-year tenure at Hillcrest Tuscaloosa where his team only lost three games before
his three-year-winning stay at Fairhope High School.
Winegarden seems to have little trouble motivating his teams to winning seasons
considering he has been on a winning coaching staff dating back to his first job as a
quarterback and receiver coach at Dalton High School in Dalton, Ga., in 2000.
At AHS, Winegarden will be entering his second season competing at the AHSAA 7A
classification level after leading Fairhope to the 6A and 7A playoffs in each of his
three seasons at the helm there.

Coach Winegarden will be available to all members of the media at 2:30 p.m. on
Friday Feb. 6, 2015 in the multi-media room of Auburn High School (where Board of
Education monthly meetings are held).
