Summer 2013 The Ste-E-ple @ Buckingham Congregational Church Worship remains at 10:00 a.m. throughout the summer. Buckingham Leadership Retreat! Calling ALL who will be serving on a committee, board or as an officer of Buckingham Church this year. Come for an afternoon retreat at Rev. Lindsey’s family cottage on Lake Amston. If you do not serve in an official capacity but are active in any of the various ministries of our congregation, you are invited too! Saturday, August 10th 10am to 2pm. We’ll gather for outdoor worship, get to know one another, envision for the year ahead and enjoy a cook out lunch. If you can come, please RSVP to Susan Betz at [email protected] by August 4th. Susan will provide you with the address when you RSVP. Summer Music Do you sing? Play an instrument? During the summer, with our choir on a break, we look to you to share your musical skill in an anthem, offertory, or prelude. Annual Meeting Buckingham’s Annual All-Church Meeting was held after worship June 23rd. We voted “Yes” to all those individuals volunteering as leaders of our congregation by serving on a board or committee or as an officer this year. The board, committee and officer names are included in this Steeple. Other items that were shared were the upcoming arrival of the YMCA preschool program, changes to the Early American Fair in the fall, an update of our website redesign and Facebook page creation. Spiritual Exploration Opportunities Women’s Spirituality Group A women’s spirituality discussion group has formed and has been named the M&M’s (Mary & Martha!). The group is open to all women, and is currently exploring the Gospel of Mary of Magdala. Join in anytime. Their next meeting is Monday, July 1st at 7:00 pm. Men’s Retreat The Bible Nuts, Buckingham’s weekly men’s bible study group, is organizing a Men’s retreat for this fall. The dates are October 18, 19, 20. All men are welcome to join! Summer 2013 Children’s Message and Church School Leaders Our Director of Christian Education, Sue Fisher, is off during the summer. On summer Sundays, you can expect there will be a children’s message in worship led by either Rev. Levenson or a volunteer from the congregation. We continue to have Church School programming when volunteers sign up to lead it. You can see the summer schedule below. Children are always welcome to stay in worship.
