Score a Super Party
“Super Bowl” and “party” go together like
“chips” and “dip.” Use these tips to help you
plan your own get-together this year:
The big game is played on the first Sunday in
February. Extend invitations several weeks in
advance so everyone can make plans to attend.
Keep your menu simple with one main dish,
such as chili, and lots of finger foods. Place
bowls and trays of snacks throughout the room.
Include a dessert—brownies are easy
and popular.
If guests offer to bring something, take them
up on it. Suggest they bring a relish tray or a jar
of salsa and a bag of tortilla chips. An extra bag
of ice always comes in handy, too.
Get in the spirit with some simple
decorations. Measure your dining room table,
then go to the hardware store and purchase
enough green turf to cover it. Paint white lines
and yard-line numbers with a paint pen, or use
white artist tape and stick-on vinyl numbers.
Buy a little extra turf and cut circles out of it to
make fun drink coasters.
If the weather is frightful, put out mats for
guests’ shoes and boots. Consider supplying
inexpensive slippers or fuzzy socks that guests
can take home with them. Look for these
unique party favors in the colors of the
competing football teams or your own
favorite team.
Now you are ready for kickoff!
Happy Valentine’s Day
We’d like to take a moment to wish all of our
residents Happy Valentine’s Day. We hope your
holiday is filled with love and sweet treats.
