MEETINGS AND SPECIAL NOTICES
Praying of the Rosary 2015 and Lenten changes: February 11th, the Rosary will be prayed at 6:40
p.m. as we will have 7:00 p.m. Mass. The following Wednesday, Feb. 18th, however, is Ash Wednesday. Mass will be at 8:00 a.m. that day and there will be a Celebration of Service of the Word that evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass at St. John in Marion will be at 5:30 p.m. There will be no Rosary on Ash
Wednesday. Instead it will be prayed on Tuesday, February 17th at 5:30 p.m. The Rosary will remain on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. Our daily Mass resumes Monday, February 9th.

Mission to Haiti: A collection will be taken today in the Commons as Tom Boyle will be making his
annual trip to Haiti where he will be visiting Fr. Serdieu Jean’s mission church and school in Morne

In the Gospel reading, after Jesus spent the
day and evening performing miracles, we
hear these incredible words: “Rising very
early before dawn, He left and went off to a
deserted place, where He prayed.” Even
Jesus had to find time to pray and speak with
His Father, even if it meant, “Rising very
early before dawn.” If it was important to
Jesus, why is it even more important for you
to spend time in prayer? What steps can you
take to deepen your times of prayer?
Today, February 8, 2015, is the International
Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking. On Feb. 8, Catholics all
over the world are encouraged to pray in
order to create greater awareness about this
tragic phenomenon. Through prayer, we not
only reflect on the experiences of those that
have suffered through this affront to human
dignity, but also comfort, strengthen, and
