PARTY GENERAL INFORMATION
BEFORE YOUR PARTY ____
DAY OF YOUR PARTY
Cost and Memberships
Birthday parties are $250 with a GSC
membership and $350 without. In order
to receive the membership discount the
GSC membership must be for at least
one adult and the birthday child.
Reciprocal memberships are not
accepted for the party discount. Your
party date will be reserved after we
receive your full payment and send you
your party confirmation via e-mail.
Your party package will include
admission wristbands for 12 children and
13 adults, 45 minutes of celebration
time, and a 30 minute workshop of your
choosing. The birthday boy or girl will
need to be included in the count of
children. Additional guests beyond the
party package will cost:
 $12.50 per additional child (up to 6
additional for a total of 18 children)
 $10.50 per additional adult (up to
room capacity, approx. 65 people).
If you need to purchase additional
wristbands you can do so when you pick
them up or on the morning of your
party. Adults with a GSC or a reciprocal
membership can come in on their
membership and do not need to be
included in the 13 adults. Additional
children who wish to participate in the
birthday workshop, with or without a
membership, will cost $12.50.
If you do not want to include the
additional wristbands in the overall cost
of your party, guests can purchase their
own party wristbands at the admissions
window the day of your party.
Cancellations
Party cancellations received 2 or more
weeks prior to your party date will be
refunded all but a $10 cancellation fee.
We cannot guarantee any refund within
2 weeks of a booked party date. If you
need to reschedule, please contact us at
least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled
party.
Send Invitations and Make a Guest List
After you have reserved a party date you
can start to invite your guests! Make
sure to emphasize an arrival time on
your invitation. A GSC party invitation
can be found on our website.

Ask your invited guests to RSVP prior to
the party date. Make a list of all who
have RSVP’d so that you know if you
need to purchase additional wristbands.
Pick Up Wristbands
We highly recommend picking up your
wristbands prior to your party date. They
will be ready the Monday before your
party. If you need to add wristbands to
your party you can do so when you pick
them up or on the morning of your
party.
Please note that we will not be able to
issue refunds if party guests do not
arrive, so please only buy wristbands for
confirmed guests.
Plan for Food and Decorations
Purchase refreshments or plan for
delivery. We do not have a refrigerator
or freezer available for your food. Plan to
bring a cooler if your food will need to be
kept cold. The day of your party, the
Safari Room will be set up with a happy
birthday banner, six-foot tables with
white table cloths and chairs. You are
encouraged to decorate the Safari Room
for your celebration. We suggest the
following decorations:


and silverware

Table centerpieces

Goody bags
Due to security and animal safety
concerns we do not allow the following
decorations:

Decoration nailed or taped to
the walls or ceilings
Packing List
Don’t forget to bring the following the
day of your party: Plates, cups, napkins
and utensils for refreshments, knife to
cut birthday cake, candles for cake,
matches/lighter, cooler for food, camera,
spare batteries, goody bags, and
decorations
Arrival Time
Your
birthday
party
admission
wristbands are valid from 9am to 5pm on
the day of your reserved party. You and
your guests can arrive at any time on the
day of your party. Please remember that
our Zoo closes at 4pm. If you have a
2:45pm party we recommend arriving at
1:30pm so that you have time to explore
our Zoo before it closes. If you have not
yet picked up your wristbands or need to
add more wristbands you can do this
when you arrive the day of your party.
Distribute Wristbands
It is your responsibility to distribute
wristbands to your party guests. We
recommend picking up your wristbands
prior to your party date. This will allow
you to distribute your wristbands prior
to your party date if you choose. You will
be able to meet your party guests at the
Birthday Banner near the admissions
window.
Set-Up
You will be able to set up the safari room
30 minutes prior to your party. Refer to
your confirmation for your set-up time,
celebration time and workshop time.
Your party presenter will introduce him
or herself during your set-up time.
FotoFx Party Discounts
FotoFX takes professional photos in front
of a green screen in our SciQuarium and
places the photos in various aquariumthemed backgrounds. FotoFX offers a
discount to birthday parties. FotoFx is
not affiliated with the Science Center.
