Onslow County Schools provides nutritious
breakfast and lunch meals designed around
the United States Department of Agriculture
(USDA) Dietary Guidelines of MyPlate.
Guidelines restrict the amount of fat, sodium
and sugar in our meal selections. We offer
and encourage fresh fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, and low-fat calcium rich foods. As
of SY 2014-2015 all of our bread/pasta
products are whole-grain rich.
A student’s lunch includes up to
5 menu components. Students may choose
from the following components:
1 meat or meat alternative
*2 choices of vegetables
*2 choices of fruit
Whole grain bread/pasta
Low-Fat or Fat Free milk
*A student’s meal must contain a fruit or
a vegetable.
Students may decline up to 2 of any of the
menu components offered.
