horse show schedule update to include specifications for Classic classes. Sponsorship form,
entry form, membership form, stall request form and other information are available at
www.SNHJA.com.
Shavings may be purchased through SNHJA for horse shows at a cost of $10 per
bag. Trainers may order shavings for their whole barn on the stall request form. Individual
riders not stalled with one of the larger barns may order shavings on their entry form. If
your trainer is ordering shavings, please do not duplicate their order on your entry
form. Please be reminded that shavings are not permitted to be delivered to Horseman's
Park for horse shows.
Credit card payment is now available in the show office. Please indicate a credit card
number on your entry form to serve as $25 entry deposit. Deposit is credited to show
bill. Deposit is forfeited if rider is a show scratch.

A Rule Book Is Available In The Show Office
1.
Ribbons will be awarded through 6th place for those divisions with jumps greater than 2’0” and
through 8th place for divisions 2’0” and less. Riders must show in two classes per division to
qualify for the show championships. Points are awarded as follows: 1st place-6 points, 2nd
place-4 points, 3rd place-3 points, 4th place-2 points, 5th place-1 point. If there are 11 or more
entries add 2 points per place. If there are 20 or more in a class, the class will be split. Champion and Reserve Champion are awarded in the following divisions:

YEAR END AWARDS
Exhibitors are responsible for knowledge of the rules governing the horse show and for their
own errors and omissions. In the case of violation of the cross entry restriction, the entry
will forfeit its entry fee, class placing and prize money.
For every horse entered herein for competition, the horse will be under the control of the
Horse Show Management, but the show management will in no case be responsible for any
loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall
hold the horse show, and the officials, employees, directors, officers, sponsoring entities of
the horse show and the facilities at which the show is held blameless for any loss or accident
to himself, his horses, employees or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or other
cause.
2.
Eligibility: Each rider must be a member of SNHJA as of show date (no retroactive points if you join
after showing). To be eligible for a year-end award, rider must compete for points in the division in
at least three shows during the year. Annual champion and reserve champion awards are normally
presented at the Year-End banquet in the following divisions.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION: The Horse Show Management reserves the right to
itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or arising out of, or incident to the
show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. The Horse Show Management
shall decide all questions not covered in this premium: its decision to be final. The Horse
Show Management reserves to itself the right to disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit
exhibition of the entries and cancel award prizes, without any claim for damages, to change
any course, to cancel or combine any unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes, after due
notice to exhibitors to change rings or rotate judges, to change specifications in jumper
classes as competition warrants.

ENTRY PROCESS: Complete your entry online at www.horseshowtime.com or fill out
the enclosed entry form and fax to Aubin Skankey at 702-583-7352. ALL ENTRIES
MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5PM, SATURDAY BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE
SHOW. After this date, the $25.00 Post Entry Fee will be added. Each entry must be
accompanied by a $25 deposit that is credited to the show bill. If entry is a “no show”
the deposit will not be returned. NO PHONE ENTRIES. In case of a minor, the parent
or guardian must sign entry form and provide an emergency phone number. Payment does
not need to be made with pre-entries. Full payment in the form of cash or blank check
MUST be left with the show office in order to receive numbers.
Trainers must leave a trainer’s check before any numbers will be released to clients by
the office. Trainers’ checks will be available for return after the last client has
checked out with the office.
ATTENTION ADDITIONAL RIDERS OF SHARED HORSE: All riders must check
in and leave a check in the office even if the horse’s number has been released to another rider.
Exhibitors that compete without being entered and those who enter at the gate will be
charged double. Incomplete entry forms, such as those that have no classes listed, are subject to post entry fee. IF PAYING IN CASH, NO ENTRY CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED. A $40 fee will be imposed on any returned check. Returned checks will not be
processed a second time and payment must be received in the form of money order, cashier’s check or cash within 10 days of notice for original amount plus the penalty. Tack stall
splits shall be submitted by trainers during the show, not later than Friday afternoon. Show
office hours: Saturday/Sunday, 7-1/2-hour after show ends. Horses on show grounds for
schooling only must have an entry form submitted and pay for grounds fee ($25 per day)
or stall fee ($60 per show) and a schooling fee ($40 per show).
In the Walk/Trot, Beginning Rider, Crossrail Horse, Crossrail Rider, and Mini Equitation divisions
once a rider and/or horse has won the year-end champion or reserve champion award, they will not be
eligible to show again in that division.
Points: The rider accumulates points in equitation classes. Riders may show on different horses
throughout the year. The horse accumulates points in hunter classes.

MINOR EXHIBITORS: Parents or guardians of minor exhibitors (juniors) shall hold the
SNHJA, Clark County (Horseman’s Park) and Show Management harmless for injury to
such minor. No child’s entry will be accepted without the signature of parent or guardian on
the entry form. The signatures of instructors, agents or other unrelated persons will not be
accepted.
6.
JUDGES: It is the purpose of the Management to run the horse show at the highest possible
level of sportsmanship. The judges’ decisions in the show ring are their own responsibility
and management accepts no responsibility for those decisions. No one shall approach a
judge without first obtaining an appointment.
7.
AGE DIVISIONS: The age of an individual on December 1, 2014 (in accordance with
USEF rules) will be maintained throughout the entire competitive year (or November 30,
2015, whichever is sooner).
8.
ATTIRE: Proper hunt attire. Jackets required unless allowed otherwise at the judge’s
discretion. Properly fitting protective headgear must be worn when riding anywhere on the
show grounds. As required by the USEF all riders must wear an approved harnessed safety
helmet that meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag.
9.
PARKING: All vehicles and trailers must be parked at least 30 feet from the barns per fire
marshal regulations.
10. SCHOOLING: An adult must supervise junior riders jumping in the warm-up arena and
during schooling rounds. Schooling fences must be jumped in the proper direction.
Schooling rounds in the show arena are available: Thursday all day, Friday morning
until 9am, Saturday before 7:30 AM & evening, and Sunday before 7:00AM. There is
a limit of 10 riders in the arena at any time. Courtesy is the rule in warm-up arena.
People on foot or lunging in the warm-up arena, please give way to riders schooling
over fences.
General Information

SNHJA is a non-profit horseshow club that is open to the public
and welcomes members from child through adult at all skill levels.
Shows are held monthly during winter and early spring. No shows
are held during the summer months, and resume again in the fall.
There is no charge to spectators to watch riders compete in the
shows.


show, are available online.

Individuals who have not paid their membership fees will not accrue points. Membership forms are available in the Show Office
during each show and online at www.SNHJA.com

11. DOGS AND OTHER PETS: Dogs or other pets in stable area or anywhere on the grounds
must be on a leash and supervised. People with pets exhibiting aggressive behavior may
be asked to immediately remove the pet from the show grounds.
12. CLEANUP: Horseman’s park assesses SNHJA a fee based on the extent of cleanup that is
required by their crews. To lower this cost, please clean up after yourself and your horse.
Do not leave bulk shavings on the ground. Shavings only, no straw allowed. For horses
tied to trailers please put your manure at the end of the barns— NO MANURE IN THE
TRASH CANS. If you place manure in trash cans you will be charged a fee.

14. CLASSES: Each class must have at least two riders entered for the class to be held. If there are
less than three riders, half points will be awarded and there will be no champion or reserve champion during the show. Show Secretary has sole authority to make division assignments. See postings outside office the night before competition to confirm “A/B” assignments. “A” and “B”
divisions in large classes will be combined the night before competition if no horse conflicts, for
<10 entries for crossrails and walk/trot; for <16 entries for all other classes divided into divisions.
In “A” and “B” divisions, “A” riders cannot ride in “B” division and “B” riders cannot ride in “A”
division.
15. ABUSE: Competitors who abuse horses may be eliminated by the judge and/or the SNHJA board
and may be subject to fines and/or additional penalties.
Parking and RV Use:
1. No parking is allowed within 30 feet of Horseman’s Park barns.
Besides this being a violation of fire code, it prevents park staff
from picking up manure. Park police can give a ticket to violators.
2. Do not park in front of RV stations if you are not using them.
Parking in RV spaces may subject you to the $15/night RV
charge. There is plenty of parking available in the West parking
lot.
3. IMMEDIATELY AFTER HOOKING UP YOUR RV TO AN RV
STATION, notify the Show Office.
4. Violators will receive a written warning posted on their RV if they
have not registered their RV at the Show Office. If you ignore the
warning, your RV could be subject to TOWING.

Estimating class start times
Each show day, sheets listing class entries are posted and
are available in the Show Office for riders, trainers, and spectators to be able to estimate the times that classes will begin,
using the following approximate times.
Water/Drag—30 to 40 minutes
Each jumping round—2 minutes
Each flat class—10 minutes
Adjusting jump height—10 minutes

CLASS SPECIFICATIONS
Hunter Division
HUNTER COURSES: Courses offered at this show will consist of 7 to 9 fences with one or two direction
changes. The fences will simulate obstacles found in the hunt field, such as brush, posts and rails, walls, inand-outs, gates, etc. Course diagrams will be posted one-half hour before each class.
HUNTER HACK CLASSES: Horses are shown at a walk, trot, and canter. The judge may ask for a halt and
back up. Upon completion of the flat portion, riders will be asked to line up in the center and individually
jump a line of 2 crossrails and return to the line up.
UNDER SADDLE CLASSES: Horses to be shown at walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. Light
contact with the horse’s mouth is required. Horses should be obedient, alert and responsive and move freely.
They should not be eliminated for slight error. No martingales permitted.
WALK/TROT HUNTER: Open to the beginner rider who has never shown over fences at any show on any
horse. Circles are not permitted in the flat classes of this division. Riders may only cross enter Beginning
Rider classes. Year-end champion and reserve champion riders from prior years may not compete in this
division.
Class 198—Hunter Under Saddle Class 199—Walk Trot Pleasure Class 200—Trot Over Poles
BEGINNING RIDER/HUNTER: Open to the beginning rider who has never shown over fences at any show
on any horse, except in this division. Riders may cross enter into walk trot classes but not into any other
jumping classes. Riders may canter one at a time or in small groups at judge’s discretion. To be shown over a
course of 8 jumps in a circular pattern of twice around the outside lines. Trotting not to be penalized. Year end
champion and reserve champion riders from prior years may not compete in the division.
Class 296—Hunter Under Saddle
Class 297—Hunter Hack Crossrail
Class 298—Hunter Crossrail 2x Around
CROSSRAIL HORSE
Open to the horse of any age that has never shown over fences exceeding 2’3” at any show with any rider.
Horse may not cross-enter into any class where fences exceed 2’3”. The crossrail jumps measure 18” and will

AA/CHILDREN’S HUNTER
Open to amateur riders showing horses and ponies. Fences are 3’0. Spreads not to exceed fence height.
In-and-Outs will not be adjusted for ponies.

Hunter Seat Equitation
The SNHJA Hunt Seat Equitation Classes are open to both junior and adult amateur riders as defined by
USEF.
WALK/TROT EQUITATION: Open to the beginner rider who has never shown over fences at any
show on any horse. Circles are not permitted in the flat classes of this division. Riders may only cross
enter Beginning Rider classes. Year-end champion and reserve champion riders from prior years may
not compete in this division.
Class 201—Equitation Flat Class 202—Walk Trot Obedience
Class 203—Trot Over Poles Equitation
BEGINNING RIDER EQUITATION
Open to the beginner rider who has never shown over fences at any show on any horse, except in this
division. Riders may only cross-enter into walk trot, but not any other jumping classes. Riders may
canter one at a time or in small groups at judge’s discretion. To be shown over a course of 8 jumps in a
circular pattern of twice around the outside lines. Trotting not to be penalized. Year-end champion and
reserve champion riders from prior years may not compete in this division.
Class 300—Equitation Flat Class 301—Horsemanship Flat
Class 299—Equitation Crossrail 2x Around
MINI EQUITATION 2’0”
Open to riders who have never shown over fences exceeding 2’3”. Fences are 2’. Year-end champion
and reserve champion riders from prior years may not compete in this division.
Class 207—Equitation Flat Class 208—Over Fences Class 209—Over Fences 2nd Rd
*If either the short or long stirrup classes have fewer than 3 entries, the classes will be combined and
pinned together.
SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION
Open to the beginner rider 11 and under (as of Dec. 1, 2012) who has never shown over fences
exceeding 2’6” on any horse. Fences may be set up to 2’3”; all oxers are narrow. Rider may not crossenter into any other class where fences exceed 2’6”.
Class 310—Flat
Class 311—Over Fences
LONG STIRRUP EQUITATION
Open to the beginner rider 12 and over as of Dec. 1, 2012 and has never shown over fences exceeding
2’6” on any horse. Fences may be set up to 2'3”; all oxers are narrow. Rider may not cross-enter into
any other class where fences exceed 2'6”.
Class 314—Flat
Class 315—Over Fences
EQUITATION 2’9”
Riders are required to jump no less than eight obstacles at 2’9”. Riders in this division may not cross
enter into another equitation or hunter division where the fences exceed 3’ in height and the rider may
not cross enter Jumper classes where the fences exceed 3’3”.

Medal Classes
Riders entered in the SNHJA Medal Classes must be members of SNHJA prior to
showing in the medal classes. Those competitors who are not members prior to entering
the class will not be eligible for points. The top eight in point standings (including all
ties) will compete in the finals in October. Points will be awarded as follows: 6,4,3,2,1.
SNHJA 2’0” MEDAL
Riders must be members of the Southern Nevada Hunter Jumper Association. Riders are
required to jump no less than eight obstacles at 2’0” over hunter type fences. Top 4 riders
to work-off. Riders may not have shown over fences exceeding 2’3” on any horse to be
eligible. (Tests 1-8)
Class 210—SNHJA 2’0” Medal
SNHJA 2’6” MEDAL
Riders must be members of the Southern Nevada Hunter Jumper Association. Riders are
required to jump no less than eight obstacles at 2’6” over hunter or jumper type fences.

To be held open all day, each day, at every height. No cross entry restrictions. For the
convenience of our exhibitors, you may enter this class at any time and enter as often as
you wish. You must only do the warm up course that is posted. No ribbons will be
awarded. Entry fee is $20.00.
