The Broomfield Academy Summer Enrichment Camp, for children ages 5-12, provides an exciting, safe and educational environment in a relaxed setting Summer 2015 Enrichment Camp to promote learning. The 2015 Summer Enrichment Camp theme is “Summer Odyssey.” Students will also participate in weekly fun and educational thematic field trips and will have plenty of opportunity to swim. June 1 Camp Begins June 1—5 Culinary Arts Learn all about kitchen safety, explore new recipes, and create snacks you can make at home. Our field trip will be to The Children’s Peace Garden in Boulder. June 8—12 Music Explore various genres of music. Discover if your favorite genre is jazz, country, pop or something in-between. Our field trip will be to Swallow Hill Music. June 15—19 Sports Take part in classic sports as well as new and upcoming sports in this week that is all about active participation. Our field trip will be to Sports Authority Field. June 22—26 Technology Construct LEGO Mindstorm and WeDo robots and program them. Design a model in TinkerCAD and watch it be printed on our 3D printer! Our field trip will be to SparkFun. June 29—July 2 Cultures Each day will be a new adventure to a new culture. We will focus on the language of the culture while also exploring games, stories and crafts. Our field trip this week will be to The Fort. A Look at a Typical Day 8:30—11:30am Camp theme activities, snack and recess 11:30—12:30pm Lunch and recess 12:30—2:30pm Camp theme activities, snack and recess 2:30—3:30pm Swimming or mind and body July 6—10 Geography Have you ever wondered why Colorado is shaped the way it is? Why the capital of the United States is Washington, D.C.? Find the answers to these questions and more as we explore the geography of Colorado and beyond. Our field trip will be to the History Colorado Center. July 13—17 Space Investigate the magic that exists beyond our atmosphere. Explore the history of the space program, learn about planets, and construct your own rocket. Our field trip will be to the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. July 20—24 Art Discover your creative side as you use various art mediums to create your own personal masterpieces. Learn about the masters of art as you use their works as inspiration for your own. Our field trip will be to Bella Glass. July 27—31 Pets Every day will be a new adventure into various pet possibilities. From reptiles, to small animals, to typical pets, we will explore what is required for responsible pet ownership and even make pet toys for you to take home. Our field trip will be to The Wild Animal Sanctuary.
