Deposits are due next Sunday February 15th! “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” — Matthew 25:35 Some good news: the numbers are going in the right direction because of people who care. Thanks in part to efforts like the 30 Hour Famine, the number of kids who die each day because of hunger, disease, and poverty has dropped from 40,000 to a little less than 19,000 in the last two decades. Some bad news: that number is still way too high… BUT WE WILL NOT STAND BY. This is the 7th year in a row CLC High School youth will participate in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, February 20th -21s . In these seven years we’ve raised over $13,300 as a group and have set a $2200 goal for 2015. Together we are going to raise money for and raise awareness of, the tragedy of oppressive hunger that so adversely affects God’s world. HELP US PLEASE! You can donate online at: http://youth.worldvision.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&team ID=6624 CLC has assembled and registered a great group to participate in the 2015 ELCA National Youth Gathering which will be held in Detroit. This event is an incredible opportunity for all involved. Want to get involved supporting this church wide ministry and/or our CLC Team? Please see Beth and learn how we will Rise Up together to serve and love Jesus alongside 30,000 other Lutheran Youth in our own home state! You will not regret it! Over more than six decades we’ve learned that the best way to fight hunger is to give families the tools they need to put food on their own tables year-round. -15- -16- Please Keep in Your Prayers...
