Our small but mighty team displayed perserverance amidst the trials of this week’s game. We
lost most of our players to illness and that left us
with one girl who had to play most of the game
and 1 sub. It was tough competition too because
#23 on St. Issaac’s team show (6) 3-pointers.
But in spite of it all our team had fun. It can be a
humbling experience to say the least. A special
thanks to our youth coaches, Matt Gondek and
Dean Zacchio.

Renew your spirit this Lent!
During the coming Lenten season,
instead of depriving yourself of
something consider this option: join
with some Marthas and Marys for six
weeks and participate in our Renew. This is our third
year. Groups meet for 1 to 1 1/2 hours each week. There
is no preparation necessary and anyone can step up and
facilitate a session. Twenty copies of Lenten Renew have
been ordered and they are available as ebooks, also.
Mary Healey will facilitate a group online. If this is of
interest to you, please contact Mary at
[email protected]. There has been a group that
meets Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. If you are interested in
joining a group or forming one, please email
Susan Ollestad, [email protected] or call @ 675-1366.

St. Ann Cares
Is looking for a project for 2015
Saint Ann Cares, now in its 21st year of serving the community, is accepting proposals for their 2015 project.
The Day of Caring will be on May 2nd. If you know of a charitable organization that needs
assistance with repairs, painting, demolition &/or construction, please contact Jeff Clarke at
860-693-2869. Also, we are seeking volunteers to assist us in our annual project. If you would
like to help with the planning and coordination of this year’s project, please join us at our next
meeting on January 22nd. The meeting is at 7pm in Room 2 under Fr. Bennett Hall
Will resume on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2015,
in Room 3 under Fr Bennett Hall at 3PM (new time).
A very ancient art, practiced at one time by all Christians is
the technique known as lectio divina - a slow,
contemplative praying of the Scriptures which enables the
Bible, the Word of God, to become the means of union with
God. In lectio, we dare to believe that our loving Father
continues to extend His embrace to us today. And His
embrace is real. In His word, we experience ourselves as
personally loved by God: as the recipients of a word which
He gives uniquely to each of us whenever we turn to Him
in the Scriptures. (Fr Luke Dysinger, O.S.B.)
This is a very meaningful, spiritual exercise that requires
only prayerful reading of weekly Scripture. There is no
preparation needed, (please bring your Bible) other than an
awareness of the Holy Spirit at work among us. We usually
meet for an hour. For more information, please call
Cathy deSimas, 860.693.8813.
The Divine Mercy Holy Hour will be
celebrated here at Saint Ann
NEXT Sunday, February 15, 2015
from 2:30 - 3:30pm.
Please join us for this powerful
devotion and to implore God’s Mercy
for ourselves and the whole world.
THANK YOU
