1. I received a letter on discontinuation of Maybank Sony Visa Card. What is this?
Maybank Sony Visa co-brand card will be discontinued effective 1 April 2015.
2. Does this affect the relationship between Maybank and Sony?
No. Maybank and Sony maintain a strong strategic business partners to continuously bring
Maybank cardmember exclusive members’ offers and on-the-spot redemption deals.
3. Will the extra warranty on the items purchases and other benefits at Sony still valid after
31 March 2015?
The extended warranty for products that had been purchased and registered before the
termination date is still valid until the expiry date of the item warranty. After SonyCard
termination, the benefits will be ceased especially on the following benefits:
 2X Treatspoints upon purchase in Sony Store & Sony Center
 24 months extended warranty: Extra 1 year of Sony Extended Warranty when you pay
with SonyCard at Sony Store & Sony Center
 Up to 20% discount on after sales service

4. I am a principal Maybank Sony Visa Credit Card and I do not have other Maybank Credit
Card, what are my options?
We will convert your existing Sony Visa Card to the new Maybank Visa Signature card.
5. What is the offer with the conversion?
You will enjoy a wide range of Maybank Visa Signature Card Benefit & Privileges such as
 Free Annual Fee for 2 Years and subsequent waiver with a minimum spend of RM 50,000
 Every RM1 spend locally earn I TREATSPoints
 5 TREATSPoints for every RM1 spend overseas
 5% Cashback for all petrol & grocery (domestic only) for all days capped at RM88 per
month. Petrol & grocery transactions will not earn TREATSPoints.
 TREATSPoints can be converted to cashback at a rate of 250TP to RM1. No capping
amount.
Note: Effective 1 March 2015, the conversion rate for cashback is revised to
400TP to RM 1.
 Only TREATSPoints earned from spend in Maybank Visa Signature card will be eligible
for redemption into cash. TREATSPoints earned from other cards are not allowed to be
transferred into card members Visa Signature card.

6. Is the conversion offer for all Maybank Sony Visa Credit Cardmembers?
Yes, it’s applicable for principal Maybank Sony Visa Credit cardmembers (including Maybank
staff cardmembers)
7. How do I accept the offer?
Just complete the acceptance form by filling up your full name, IC number (as per your MyKad),
latest billing address and contact number, pen-down your signature and submit copy to:

The acceptance form to be submitted the soonest possible as the existing Sony Visa Card
will be deactivated by 1 April 2015.

How about my supplementary cardholder(s)?
Existing valid supplementary cardholders of principal Maybank Sony Visa credit cardmembers,
who has accepted the offer of Visa Signature card, will also be issued a supplementary card
linked to the Principal credit card account.
9.
What is the new credit assignment of my supplementary cardholder(s)?
It will same as per current Maybank Sony Visa Credit Card credit assignment.
10. Will I be charged with Card Service Tax on my upgrade Credit Card?
Yes, the Card Service Tax of RM 50 will be charged on the new card issued.
P/S : Effective 1 April 2015, there will be NO Service Tax of RM 50.00 charged upon new
card issuance. We shall waive the Service Tax in SonyCard Visa if there is no
utilization upon renewal until the issuance of new Visa Signature.
11. Can I take up other Maybank Credit Card?
Yes, please call our Customer Care Centre at 1300 88 6688 for further assistance.
12. What happens to my existing outstanding balance, TREATS Points, Ezypay, Autopay and
Zing card reload in the Sony Visa card?
Upon acceptance of Visa Signature offer, the existing outstanding balance, TREATS Points,
Ezypay, Autopay and Zing card reload will be transferred to the new Maybank credit card.
However, for non Maybank Auto Paybills merchants (off-us), please notify the respective
service provider on the new card number.
13. When will my new credit card arrive?
Within 10 working days from the date we confirmed received of the acceptance form. All new
Visa Signature card will be send via mail to the billing address in the acceptance form
provided by cardmembers.
14. Can I use my Maybank Sony Visa Credit Card once I have accepted the conversion offer?
Yes, you may still use the Sony Visa Card until 31 March 2015.
15. If I decline the offer, what will happen to my outstanding balance,TREATS Points, Ezypay,
Autopay and Zing card reload in the SonyCard Visa ?
You are encouraged to take up the good offer especially when you have outstanding balance,
TREATS Points, Ezypay, Autopay and Zing card reload in order for you to continue
enjoying all the benefit and conveniences.
If Visa Signature does not suit your requirement, you may also consider other Maybank Credit
Card such as Maybank 2 Cards.
16. My card will be deactivated on 1 April 2015, what does that mean?
Your Maybank Sony Visa Credit Card will be deactivated means that you will not be able to use
the card for any transaction including and not limited to retails spend, cash advance, standing
instruction.

17. Can I request for the upgrade to Maybank Visa Signature card?
Yes, you may request for the upgrade by submitting all the relevant income documents and it
is subject to credit assessment and approval.
18. If I do not want to upgrade to Maybank Signature card, can I request for an increase credit
limit for my existing credit card?
Yes, you may request for the upgrade by submitting all the relevant income documents and it
is subject to credit assessment and approval.
19. What happens to my existing outstanding balance, TREATS Points, Ezypay, Autopay and
Zing card reload in the Sony Visa Card?
The existing outstanding balance, TREATS Points, Ezypay, Autopay and Zing card reload will
be transferred to your other Maybank credit card as per your choice.
However, for non Maybank Auto Paybills merchants (off-us), please notify the respective
service provider on the new card number.
