Ref: Date: htp\Staff\.5 ALL COLLEGES\Y9\2014-15\Y9 Parents’ Evening ltr 9th February 2015 Dear Parents / Carers TH YEAR 9 PARENTS’ CONSULTATION EVENING – THURSDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2015, 4.30PM – 7.30 PM On behalf of the Year 9 teaching team, I would like to invite you and your son/daughter to the Year 9 Parents’ th Consultation Evening on Thursday 26 February 2015 between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. This is a particularly important opportunity for you to meet formally with individual subject teachers who will be able to provide you with up-to-date information on your youngster’s progress and offer advice for next steps. It is also an opportunity for you to discover ways in which you, as parents, can provide support and we very much hope that you will be able to attend. The consultations will be held in both the Gym, where you will be able to meet with teachers of English and Mathematics and the Sports Hall, where teachers of all other subjects will be available to meet with you. It is important that your youngster accompanies you so that they are entirely aware of their next steps, and they should bring their planners in order to make notes. Students will not be expected to attend in their school uniform. During the evening you will also be able to attend an Options Presentation in the Theatre giving an overview of the next steps in the Options process. I would encourage all parents/carers to attend this presentation as it will provide you with essential information about the process. This presentation will take place at 5.30pm and 7pm and will last 30 minutes. I have attached an Appointment Booking form (PC1) which should be completed together with your youngster’s teachers th during week commencing 9 February. The appointments last a maximum of five minutes in order to ensure that every parent and student have opportunities to speak to the relevant teachers during the evening. We would also recommend that, if time allows and subject to availability, you meet with your child’s mentor. Please note that we have very limited parking facilities for visitors on school grounds and so would ask that you park considerately nearby, bearing in mind the need to cause as little inconvenience to our neighbours as possible.
