2015 Torch Lighting Ceremony & Skills Competition Saturday, February 14th – Kroc Center 10:45am Skills Competitors Report & Suit Up 11:00am ALL DIVISIONS report for Torch Lighting Followed by Team Skills Competition Players wear jerseys and tennis shoes. *No Skates during ceremony (*except for players participating in skills competition) Coaches – two (2) per team allowed during ceremonies. Skills competitors can be dressed in equipment & skates for ceremony. Skills player’s equipment bags are to be stored in assigned Locker Rooms. (Will be locked during ceremony and skills competition.) See Group assignments: (Squirt B, followed by Peewee A then Bantam A Division) o o o o o Group A will line up on the West side. (walk past bleachers to far end) Group B will line up on the East side. (line up in concession area) Groups will be led onto the ice by a California State Games Volunteer. Team Captain will lead their team and line up on the blue line facing center, with team members lining up behind, and line ends with the two (2) coaches. EACH Captain will pass the torch to the next Captain, with the last Team Captain passing it on to the Torch Lighter. Torch Lighting Ceremony will last approximately 20 minutes. Following the ceremony, the ice will be prepared for the skills competition. Skills competition order: 1. Target Shooting 2. Speed Skating 3. Break Away (skills’ competition will last approximately 1 ½ hours) COACHES ARE NOT ALLOWED to accompany their players on the ice for the skills competition. There will be volunteers accompanying the players to their assigned skills. Coaches can cheer on their players from the bleachers! PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED! To the winner of each event in every division AND To the team earning the most points collectively . . .
