Junk and Metals Verge Collection
February - May 2015
The junk and metals verge collection commences on Monday, 16 February 2015,
and will be conducted over a 13 week period.
Please pay close attention to the requirements of the verge collection. Non
compliance may result in your waste not being collected.
To discourage illegal dumping, all waste must be placed on your front verge by
6.00am Monday no more than seven days prior to the scheduled collection date.
The truck collecting metal products is separate to the general junk
collection vehicle. Place bulk rubbish on your front verge in two separate
piles without obstructing footpaths.

The following items
WILL be collected:
 Whitegoods (fridge, stove, etc)
 Timber (up to 1.5m in length)
 Scrap metal
 General junk
Three 6’x4’ trailer loads or three cubic
metres only (excess waste will not be removed)
Please consider the opening size of the collection
vehicle when placing items out for collection maximum 1.5m wide by 1.2m height.
*Note: For safety reasons, doors must be detached
from all whitegoods

The following items
WILL NOT be collected:
Objects exceeding 1.5m
Greenwaste, stumps, palm logs or tree
roots
Car bodies, vehicle parts, tyres or
batteries
Paints, chemicals, oils, acids
Asbestos or fibre cement products
Bricks, sand or building rubble
Plate glass or shower screens
Foodstuff or domestic rubbish
Household hazardous, medical or
veterinary waste
General requirements
WARNING: A litter infringement may be issued to those premises where
waste is placed on the verge more than seven days before the collection
start date, or after the truck as passed.
Avoid placing your waste near structure or obstructions like water meters,
light poles, walls, sprinklers, etc.
Waste will not be collected from vacant properties, public land or
reserves.

All waste is to be placed in a neat pile on the verge no earlier than one
week prior to the scheduled start date for your area.
