Life on the Trail Exhibit
On display February 16 through April 17
The City of Winter Garden presents Life on the Trail Art Exhibit, the current Art in Public
Places exhibit in City Hall. Original renderings of local artists’, of different ages, interpretations will cover the walls of City Hall Lobby. The exhibit includes over 25 pieces of art in
various mediums and processes. These diverse and colorful pieces portray everyday
life on the West Orange Trail, from biking and running to scenery and sunsets by the trail!
5th Annual JCCF Charity Golf Tournament
The Jimmy Crabtree Cancer Fund will be hosting its 5th Annual Golf Tournament to raise
funds that will assist with medical expenses for young cancer stricken families in our area.
This event sold out early last year so consider pre-registering at the website below.
The public is invited to attend the tournament as well as a pulled pork dinner and Silent
Auction. The dinner is served to the golfers, guests and the public beginning at 5:30 pm
with a donation to JCCF. Sponsorships are available. www.jccancerfund.org

Utility Bill Assistance for City of
Winter Garden low income Seniors
New applications or renewals are now being accepted. Those eligible will receive up to
a $35 reduction in their city utility bill starting in May 2015. You must have been a City
resident continuously for 5-years prior to submitting an application.
Applications are available at the City Hall Reception Desk. You must be 65 years of age,
or 62 years of age and receiving Social Security. Your monthly income may not exceed
$1,257.45 (Single) or $1,757.96 (Married). Copies of your 2014 Federal Income Tax
Return OR your 2015 Social Security Benefit Statement and ALL other sources of income
MUST BE PROVIDED. Contact the City Clerk’s office at 407.656.4111 ext. 2297.
The deadline for submitting your application AND proof of your income
is May 1, 2015.

KICKBALL - ADULT SPRING LEAGUE
The playground game we all remember from grade school has evolved into today’s
hottest get-together sport for adults. Anyone can play from the less experienced to
the diehard. This is a great way to stay in shape, meet new people, and have fun!

Summer Day Camp 2015 is here! And now, for all previously enrolled families, you
can register completely online. Prior to registration, please make sure that all house
information is current and up to date. To avoid any registration issues, please verify
your camper’s information by April 10th. The first two weeks payment is due by May
15th. Payments not made by May 15th are subject to late charges or cancellation.
Camp is offered from June 8 – August 7. Space is extremely limited.

SUMMER DAY CAMP COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is specifically designed to develop the skills
needed to be a positive leader and role model in the summer day camp. CIT’s will
be given a behind the scenes glimpse at camp planning, policies and administration.
Each CIT will be assigned to work with a specific group in the summer day camp, and
through hands-on experience, will work side by side with the camp counselors and
Camp Director. Using a first follower approach participants will have a chance to explore
leadership opportunities in a camp setting, responsibilities involved in working with
children and fun team building activities.
Limited space is available. In order to be eligible for this program, interested participants
must complete an application and interview. Applications will be available beginning
February 16 and must be returned by March 13.

Winter Garden Heritage Foundation
DESPITE THE OBSTACLES, A PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBIT
In celebration of Black History Month, Winter Garden Heritage Foundation presents a
curated photographic exhibit covering the educational history contributed by the African
American schools of West Orange County prior to integration. The exhibit also marks the
50th anniversary of the great strides made in 1964 and 1965 with the passage of both
the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.

ASSOCIATION
Skill level: all welcome. Using coil, pinch and sculpt and hand building techniques, we will explore sculpting the human face by creating a smaller than life
size bust. Students will learn elementary working anatomy of the human skull
and face. We will explore unique surfaces that can be used at different stages
in the clay sculpting process to bring your work to life.
