Salvado Catholic College To Open in Byford in 2016

Catholic Education of Western Australia is pleased to advise that Salvado Catholic College in Byford will commence in 2016. The College will initially offer Kindergarten to Year 2 classes and will then continue to grow until it reaches its ultimate capacity as a Kindergarten to Year 12 College. The stage one building program will deliver a modern and purpose built early learning centre, junior primary classrooms, grassed and hard court play areas, enclosed assembly area, an administration building and carpark. The innovative building design will have a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which supports best practice, 21st century teaching and learning approaches. The College patron, Dom Rosendo Salvado was an inspirational missionary, educator, bishop and pioneer colonist who founded the community of New Norcia. The College’s motto is “Peace, Justice, Compassion” which directly reflects Salvado’s life work and is our vision for the College. The olive branches of the logo represent a growing community that will start modestly, but which will continue to expand and flourish from its initial opening and which is anchored by a common Catholic faith. Foundation College Principal Santino Giancono has recently been appointed and is currently working closely with the builders and architects on the project and welcomes applications from interested families. “I am delighted to be leading Salvado Catholic College through its foundation year and I am currently seeking applications for students in K-‐2 for 2016. I look forward to meeting with interested families as we work together to build the College from the ground up,” said Santino. The College website is currently under construction and will shortly be live with detailed enrolment information, design plans and will be regularly updated with reports on building progress as well as current information for families.
