News in Brief: School-Led Improving System forthcoming engagement events; Critical Incidents reporting; Health and Safety SLA 2015/16; EYFS reception baseline Issue 21 9 February 2015 Dear colleagues, Diary Dates As we near the end of the first half of the Spring term, I wanted to use my editorial to reflect on some of the achievements of this academic year. I am pleased to see the published attainment results continue to show progress on the journey to top quartile performance, and impacting on the gap in attainment for our more vulnerable young people. It was a great pleasure to be part of the Essex Teaching awards last week showcasing excellent teaching across the different categories. I would urge you to book on one of the engagement sessions scheduled over the next few weeks which mark the beginning of discussions on embedding a school led improvement system across Essex schools. This will enable us to plan together to develop effective collaborative cluster working, building on some of the learning from the education partnership work in Basildon, Harlow and Tendring. 09/02/15 FFT Webinars 09/02/15 PREVENT Workshop 10/02/15 FFT Webinars. 11/02/15 School Led Partnership Launch, Five Lakes. 12/02/15 School Led Partnership Launch, Holiday Inn, Basildon 25/02/15 Primary briefing on FFT Aspire. 26/02/15 Primary briefing on FFT Aspire.
