Ms Wallace *SPRING CONCERT– This is an invitation for pupils to come forward to audition for the Spring Concert which is taking place on Thursday 26th March. We are looking for the following – Solo vocals or acoustic duet/group. If you would like to audition, please give your names to the music department by Wednesday 25th February. The auditions will be during lunch time on Friday 27th February. Music Department QWIK CRICKET –lunch time indoor qwik cricket club is in the GYM TOMORROW for S1-S3 at 1.15pm delivered by Jason Brandsma, S4. No experience required. All welcome. Please wear indoor shoes. Lynne Fraser, Active Schools HAIRSPRAY COSTUME DESIGN TEAM - Are you interested in costume design? We are putting together a team of staff and students to work on the costume designs for the wonderful ‘Hairspray’ musical production which is now under development. Come along and get involved behind the scenes. All ages welcome. This is great experience for anyone interested in a career in this direction. If you are interested please come along to an initial meeting to find out what it is all about at 1.10pm on Thursday 26 th February in Ms. McCormack’s room. Lynne Fraser, Active Schools ARMY JOBS AND APPRENTICESHIPS FAIR AT EDEN COURT - are you interested in a future career in the Army? If you would like to attend this Army careers fair and you are in S3-6, please sign up to this event this Thursday from 11am-13pm. The sign-up sheet is on the wall next to my office but spaces are limited so sign up fast if you want to go. Make sure you also take a permission slip and return this to me ASAP. Mr Murphy S4&5 VPP COLLEGE COURSES for 2015-16 I now have the application forms for the VPP courses, which include the following: - Car Mechanics; Construction Crafts; Uniformed & Emergency Services; Performing Engineering Operations; Beauty; Early Education & Childcare; Hairdressing; Food Preparation & Cookery; Energy. All these qualifications are SCQF Level 4 or 5. If you apply for this course you MUST commit to staying at school for the whole year in S5 or 6 (2015-16). If you would like more information about the courses either speak to your Guidance Teacher or visit the 4Schools section of the college website – www.inverness.uhi.ac.uk. Please take an application form from outside my office and when completed return to your Guidance Teacher as they will need to write you a reference before sending it on to the College. You will then be required to attend an interview at the College in May. Mr Murphy HIT THE ROAD - If you are a musical performer aged between 14 and 19 and you would like to take your act on the road then 'Hit the Road' may be for you. Music Department S1/2 S1-S2 RUNNING CLUB There is a new running club starting Thursday 5th March after school 3.20 – 4.15pm. The club is open to all S1/S2 pupils regardless of your fitness and running experience. Please wear PE kit and remember to bring a water bottle.
