NATIONAL TRAINING DAY: Parents are reminded of our National Training Day for all Crawford staff
THIS Friday (15 May) as indicated in our Term Planner. All parents are advised to please note that
there will be no school, extra-murals or Adventure Club on that day. Normal routines will be followed
on Thursday.
MARKET DAY: Our Grade 7 pupils will be holding a Market Day on
Thursday, 14 May during school hours which will extend from 09:40 to
10:30. Our academic timetable will be adjusted to accommodate this
event in which the entrepreneurial skills of our most senior pupils will be
showcased.
“Entrepreneurial Knowledge and Skills” is a learning outcome in the Grade 7 Economic and
Management Sciences curriculum. The Grade 7 pupils are expected to take ownership of producing a
product or providing a service. They have been guided in drawing up a business plan, including
acquiring a loan and the repayment of same.
Many exciting events have been planned and various stalls will offer food to be enjoyed. There will be
items and toys to be bought, games to be played while fun can be had by all! Customers should be
discerning and may need some guidance from parents as to what to look for before purchasing
items. Advertising currently posted around the school should give the youngsters a good idea of what
to expect on the day. All proceeds will go towards the Grade 7 farewell fund.
Hopefully, our young entrepreneurs will get a small taste of the trials and tribulations of running their
own businesses one day!

Adventure Club News Flash!
Feedback on our March/April 2015 Holiday Programme.
We had a very successful Holiday Programme with all our activities enjoyed by the children.
Highlights were:
• Traffic Land visited in our car park and the children didn’t want the rides to ever end.
• Our puppet show, as always, was filled with fun and excitement. So much so we have
another puppet show in the July school holidays.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Will all parents please note that their children can only attend the July Holiday Programme at
the Adventure Club if bookings are made no later than June 19th. The Programme runs
morning and afternoon, from Monday 29 June through to Friday 17 July, and we have
activities to finalise, staff rostering to allocate, and catering to arrange, so, as you can
appreciate, exact numbers of children in attendance each morning and afternoon must be
known.
We will not be able to accept children who arrive without a booking having been made
by the 19th June 2015. Registration forms are now available at Adventure Club.
Regards
Karen Elliott
