Need assistance or help? Please speak to any of our “Welcomers” in foyer. GLOBALLY: (1) In 1981, in south-eastern China, one million Bibles were delivered to a secluded beach and distributed to persecuted Christians who had no access to God`s Word. At that time, China was a place where persecution was at its worst. In spite of intense persecution, the Church grew in the millions, & was desperate & hungry for God`s life-changing Word. Praise God for the boldness of those who delivered the Bibles, & the hungry hearts of those who received them. Encourage us Dear Heavenly Father. (2) Please continue to pray against the spread of Ebola in West Africa. There have been many rumours of possible outbreaks. When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don't throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer! Who do you trust? A lot of us have learned over the years to trust ourselves. It is often formed from trusting people, getting hurt and finding that we couldn’t trust others. As a consequence we would conclude that if you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself. If you don’t open your heart to people they can’t hurt you. But this mindset also keeps us from trusting God. Proverbs 3:5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” When we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, the Spirit of God comes to live inside us. This is one of the great blessings of salvation. God dwells in our heart and we can learn to hear His voice and know that He can be trusted as the engineer of our life. (3) Please pray that the South Australian Parliament will give a firm response to the problem of drug abuse, & that society will turn away from the use of illicit substances. (4) South Sudan Sunday 29 March If you are considering Baptism, please have a chat with Sonya or Justin. Most of us are very aware of the devastation that South Sudan is still facing. Please join with us as a congregation as we seek God in prayer for this country, in particular: Circumstances around the hospital bombing resulting in Aid organisations having to withdraw 6 million (1/2 the population) is in need of aid 100,000 are in camps Peace talks have failed thus far Please pray that issues would be resolved quickly and so avoiding the suffering of many more. Pray for healing of division, for hunger to be filled and for hope to flourish in South Sudan. If you have any questions that you’d like answered about Baptism, Sonya and Justin are happy to talk with you about that. God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. Romans 5:5 NIV May you be blessed with the peace that comes from having Jesus in your life and the joy that comes from being a part of God’s family. Did you know: Recently Annabel Digrance, the State Member of Parliament for Elder, visited MarionLIFE, Good Gear and Side Gate Cafe. She was very interested to hear of the services that are provided and wanted to be informed of our needs. In January (and we were only open for 2 weeks), 117 clients were assisted through the Emergency Relief Program. At our last ‘Brekky for Blokes’ we provided breakfast for 40 individuals. Donations of cereal, long life milk, rice and pasta are always needed to give to people accessing our services. Why not add an extra item to your shopping trolley this week? There is an urgent vacancy, bread packers are needed to collect bread from a Flagstaff Hill bakery on the first and third Mondays of the month (6pm – 7.30pm). Please speak to Karen Ames. MarionLIFE continues to be a ‘place of hope and refuge’ in our community. We are blessed to be able to see how our God chooses to use MarionLIFE services to connect with others.
