Informal Instructional Materials Reviews As of February 20, 2015
Informal Instructional Materials Review
The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) has officially launched its Informal Instructional Materials Review for
K-12 English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics. Through this process, the LDOE will release reviews of
submitted Open Education Resources (for free) and Propriety Materials (for purchase). Reviews of submitted
materials will be released on a rolling basis and posted on LDOE’s website to support educators as they make
choices about the resources to use in their schools and classrooms. In 2012, the Board of Elementary and Secondary
Education repealed the requirement that school districts purchase instructional material from an approved list.
The list below highlights materials under review and the timeline for the release of the review. This list is updated
weekly. All reviews can be found at curricular resources.
