ChronoTrack Timing Tag Instructions
Your Timing Device for this
event is the ChronoTrack BTag, a single use bib tag. The Timing Tags are
affixed to the back of your Race Number. DO
NOT remove the Timing Tags! In order to receive
an accurate time, please be sure that Race
Number is clearly visible on the front of the
torso and is unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle),
pinned in all four corners and not covered by
jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.
• Do not cross the Finish Line twice. Please
proceed through the Finish Line Area and
receive your Finisher’s Medal. PLEASE NOTE:
If you are running the 15K AND 5K on Saturday,
Feb. 21, 2015, you must have registered and
completed an Entry Form for both events.
Unless you are running the Michelob Ultra
Challenge or Michelob Ultra Amber Challenge,
you have been issued a 15K AND a 5K Race
Number.
• When running the 15K, you MUST wear your
assigned 15K Race Number ONLY. Do not wear
or carry your 5K Race Number. Before starting
the 5K, YOU MUST replace your 15K Race
Number with your 5K Race Number.
• Due to the sensitivity of the Chrono Track
Timing Device, wearing or carrying your 5K Race
Number during the 15K OR vice versa, could
impact your Race Results.

2015 PGDC Race Number Requirements
• Do not alter the Race Number in any way.
• For your own protection, complete the back of
your Race Number and provide the necessary
medical information and emergency contacts.
• Fasten the Race Number securely to the front
of your running clothing with safety pins
(available at packet pick-up)
• All Race Numbers must be readily visible and
worn on the front and outside of all clothing
during the entire race.
• Race Participants not wearing their Race
Numbers will not be allowed in the Start Staging
Corrals.
• Race Numbers are not transferrable.
Race Morning Runner Gear Check-In/Pick-Up
– Tampa Convention Center MR 24
• All registered participants may store their
warm-up clothing in the Gear Check Area.
• This area will be located in MR 24 of the
Tampa Convention Center. Gear should be
dropped off and picked up according to your
race number. The Gear Check Area will open at
5:30 a.m. on Saturday and 4:30 a.m. on
Sunday. Luggage will not be allowed in Gear
Check Area.
• Clear plastic bags will be provided for storing
your apparel, etc. Personal Backpacks and/or
baggage will not be accepted.
• Do not check any valuables. The GDCA will
not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
Any gear not claimed before the Gear Check
Area closes at Noon, will be taken back to the
Association’s office.
2015 PGDC Race Results
Complete, but not Official Race Results for the
Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K & 5K
and Publix Gasparilla Half-Marathon & 8K, will
be available by 3 p.m. on Race Day at:
www.tampabayrun.com.
•Once Results are Official, eFinisher’s
Certificates will be emailed to all finishers who
provided correct email addresses during
registration and will include Start Time, Gun
Time, Pace Per Mile, Age Group Finish and
Overall Finish.

• On Sunday morning, Feb. 22nd, look for
15K & 5K Race Coverage and Race Day Photos.
• On Monday morning, Feb. 23rd, the Special
Section will include Half Marathon & 8K Race
Coverage and Race Day Photos, as well as
complete 15K, 5K, Half Marathon and 8K Age
Group Results.
• Please note that because of potential
results corrections and changes, the initial
Age Group Results could be subject to change.
INSTRUCTIONS
Michelob Ultra Race Day Results Rovers
• Back in 2015, Michelob Ultra
Results Rovers will be ‘roving’
around during the Q105 Post-Race Celebrations
on Saturday and Sunday mornings and carrying
iPads loaded with Race Day Results.
• On the front of every Race Number is a
personalized QR Code that on Race Morning,
once the initial (but not Official) results are
posted, will provide quick access. A Smartphone
and QR Code Reader App are required.
• Michelob Ultra Results Rovers can also access
individual Results by scanning personalized
QR Codes.
Attention 15K, 5K, Half Marathon
& 8K Participants!
If you finished in the Top 10% of
your Age Group, head to the Q105
Post-Race Celebrations in
Cotanchobee Park to pick-up your
Ferman Automotive Mini-Cooper Top 10% Coffee
Mug. (while supplies last)
Medical Support
Medical personnel will be ready
to assist you at any time during
all of the Race Weekend events.
• Tampa Fire Rescue Paramedics will be
stationed along the course and will be roving the
course on motorized vehicles. Medical Personnel
will have the right to withdraw any runners or
walkers from the race who appear in distress or
at risk should they continue running.
• In the Finish Area, Tampa General Hospital will
provide a fully-equipped medical facility staffed
by a team of medical professionals. Only
participants requiring medical assistance will be
allowed access to the medical tents.
Safety Rules & Regulations
• For the safety and enjoyment of all event
participants, the course(s) are restricted to
registered runners and walkers, wheelchair
division participants and official race personnel
ONLY. No dogs, no bikes, no in-line skates, no
roller skates and no wheeled vehicles (except
registered wheelchairs) will be allowed on
course. Baby joggers will ONLY be allowed in the
Kellogg’s 5K Stroller Roll.
• Violators will be disqualified and removed
from the course by a Race Official. Additionally,
for your own safety the use of radio/CD
headphones is allowed, but discouraged in
accordance with RRCA and USTAF Guidelines.
Lost & Found
• A Lost & Found Area is located in Meeting
Room #24 of the Tampa Convention Center. All
articles that are found will be sent to the Lost &
Found Area. Any items not claimed before the
Gear Check Area closes at Noon (Saturday &
Sunday) will be taken back to the GDCA Office:

Official Photos
• Official race photos will be taken along the
course and at the Finish Line by Marathon Foto.
To insure photo identification on the course
and at the Finish Line, please make sure that
your Bib Number is visible at all times. Photo
proofs and orders will be available online
beginning Thurs., Feb. 26, 2015 at:
tampabayrun.com. For additional details
regarding photos, please contact
Marathon Foto at 1-800-424-3686.
Post-Race Massage
• The Performace Massage Sports
Massage Team will be offering
10-minute post race massages ($12) and
20-minute post race massages ($24) to
participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additional massage time may be purchased for
$1/minute (cash only).
• Massage area will be located in MR 25 on the
ground floor of the Convention Center (adjacent
to Gear Check Area). For more information

ATTENTION FAMILY
MEMBERS/SPECTATORS
• On Saturday morning, Feb. 21 and Sunday
morning, Feb. 22, the Platt St. Bridge sidewalks
WILL PROVIDE the only access to the Finish Line
Viewing Areas.
• Spectators are encouraged to utilize the
sidewalks on the south side of Channelside/Platt
St. Bridge. The sidewalk will allow easy access to
the Finish Line Bleachers, an awesome view of
the Finish Line.
• If the Finish Line Area is approached utilizing
the sidewalks on the north side of Channelside/
Platt St. Bridge, to access the Finish Line
Bleachers or water side of Bayshore Blvd.,
spectators MUST either utilize the Bayshore
Blvd./Plant Ave. Bridge crossover or the Platt St.
Bridge Cross Under. To cross under the Platt St.
Bridge, entrances are on either side of the Bridge
at Bayshore Blvd. & Platt St.

• After you cross the Finish Line, DO NOT STOP.
• Finish Line Volunteers will direct you to the
Tampa General Hospital Medical Tent (if
necessary), Portable Toilet Facilities and the
Columbia Restaurant Runner Revive Area—
located on the Tampa Convention Center Front
Drive. DO NOT CROSS THE FINISH LINE TWICE.
• Zephyrhills Spring Water and Gatorade
will be available atop the Platt St. Bridge.
• Please cross the Finish Line, proceed to the
Platt St. Bridge, take your Finisher’s Medal and
then proceed down Channelside to Franklin St.,
south on Franklin St. to the TCC Front Drive.
Post-Race Refreshments/
Columbia Restaurant Runner
Revive Area
• Located on Tampa Convention Center Front Dr.
• Publix Bananas, Zephyrhillls Sparkling Water,
Special K Cereal Bars, Dole Fruit Cups, Buddy
Fruits, Coca-Cola and Smoothie King smoothies
will be available for event participants ONLY and
will be distributed on the Tampa Convention
Center’s Front Drive. Please take ONLY one
product from each station.
• Please place all garbage in the provided
garbage containers ONLY. Once on Front Drive,
participants will be guided back to the Tampa
Convention Center or along the Riverwalk to
Cotanchobee Park for the Q105 Post-Race
Celebration, presented by Michelob Ultra.
Gasparilla Stays Green!
• The City of Tampa Solid Waste &
Environmental Management Dept. will place
Recyclable Containers in the Finish Line Area.
• Please do your part and drop your empty
Zephyrhills Spring Water and Coca-Cola cups
into these containers…for additional information
on Race Day, look for the Green Team
Volunteers.
Runner Reunite Area
• 15K & 5K Finishers should instruct their
families to meet them on the Riverwalk of the
Tampa Convention Center located on the water
side of the Tampa Convention Center; as
Finishers leave the Post-Race Columbia Runner
Revive area, they will enter the Tampa
Convention Center Riverwalk Area.
• Please locate this area prior to the race so
that there is no confusion.
Michelob Ultra Challenge, Michelob
Ultra Amber Challenge and Michelob
Ultra Lime Cactus Challenge
• Congratulations to those participants that
have decided to take the Michelob Ultra
Challenge, Michelob Ultra Amber Challenge and
Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus Challenge.
• PLEASE NOTE, you will be issued ONLY ONE
RACE NUMBER for use during all of the three
events. DO NOT lose or forget your RACE
NUMBER on either Race Morning.
• Challenge participants will be given their
Finisher’s Jacket during Packet Pick-Up on
Fri., Feb. 20, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sat., Feb. 21,
6 a.m. – 5 p.m..
• Participants will be presented with their
Challenge Finisher’s Medal upon crossing the
Finish Line of their Final Challenge Event (Half

• So that Challenge participants can run the 5K
and/or 8K without carrying their 15K/Half
Marathon Finisher’s Medals, medals can be
dropped off in the Challenge Medal Drop Off
Zone that on Saturday, will be located at the
north end of the Platt Street Bridge, under the
Tampa Convention Center’s Flag Landing.
A banner will mark the Drop Off Location.
* On Sunday morning, the Challenge Drop Off
Zone will be located on the water side of
Bayshore Blvd. & the Platt St. Bridge…by the
Official Gasparilla Flagpole.

PUBLIX GASPARILLA HALF MARATHON
& 8K RUNNER INFORMATION
PLEASE NOTE: Following the “Official Starts”
at 6 a.m./9 a.m. and once the Start Area
clears, late comers will not be allowed to
Start! Please allow plenty of time to check
your gear and get to the Start Area and then
line up for the start of the Half Marathon &
8K. If you are driving to the race, please arrive
early and give yourself plenty of time for
parking. Remember that many of the streets
will be closed to traffic.
Publix Gasparilla Half-Marathon
Start Information
• There will be a Start Information Area set up
at the Franklin St. entrance of the Tampa
Convention Center. Volunteers will be able to
assist with offering information on the locations
of the following: Gear Check, Lost & Found,
Start Locations, Post-Race Massage, TGH
Medical Tent, Portable Toilets

and secured Staging Area.
• From the south, runners will be directed north
on the Platt St. Bridge sidewalks to access 2hours & Under Staging Area from the rear.

• From the north/Tampa Convention Center, 2+
Hours runners will be directed to Little Bayshore
Blvd. Staging by utilizing the NW sidewalk of the
Platt St./Channelside Bridge. Once over the
bridge, runners will enter the staging area
through Barricade Breaks on either side of Little
Bayshore Blvd.
• From the south, 2+ Hours runners will be
directed across Platt St. to Barricade Breaks on
south side/Publix Super Markets side of Little
Bayshore Blvd.

Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon
Course Information
• The 13.1-mile course starts on Platt St. at
Little Bayshore Blvd. and finishes on beautiful
Bayshore Blvd.; Tampa’s most scenic and
picturesque waterfront road. The flat, fast and
mostly waterfront course showcases many of
Tampa’s most beautiful and historic
neighborhoods including Davis Islands and
Bayshore Blvd.
Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon
Course Time Requirements
• All Half-Marathon participants must maintain
a 16-minute per mile pace and complete the
Davis Islands portion of the course (5-miles) by
7:40 a.m.
• Any runner failing to reach the 5-mile mark by
7:40 a.m. will be moved to the sidewalk until
they reach Bayshore Blvd. where they will be
allowed back on course, but must complete the
race by 10 a.m.
• Transportation back to the Finish Area will be
available for runners unable to complete the
Half Marathon. If you cannot complete the Half
Marathon, please go to the closest Aid Station
and notify a Race Official for assistance.
ATTENTION! Publix Gasparilla
Half Marathon Spectators
Spectators will be directed to the Platt St. Bridge
Sidewalks. Once on the south side of the Platt
St. Bridge, to access the other side of Platt St.
and/or Bayshore Blvd., spectators will be forced
to walk under the Platt St. bridge. To cross under
the Platt St. Bridge, entrances are on either side
of the bridge at Bayshore Blvd. & Platt St.
Publix Gasparilla 8K Open Start–9 a.m.

• The 4.97-mile course starts on Bayshore
Blvd. at Verne St. and finishes on beautiful
Bayshore Blvd.; Tampa’s most scenic and
picturesque waterfront road. The flat, fast, out
and back waterfront course will turnaround at
Mason/Stovall St.

Publix Gasparilla 8K
Course Time Requirements
• The Gasparilla 8K will Start promptly at 9
a.m. Once the Start clears, it will close. Please
arrive early and allow plenty of time for parking
and walking to the 8K Start Line. Runners and
walkers participating in the 8K, must be able to
maintain a 16-minute per mile pace and
complete the 8K by 10:30 a.m.
8K Family Members & Spectators
• Though not recommended and strongly
discouraged, if family members and/or
spectators choose to walk with 8K runners to
the start area, at Bayshote & Platt St., they will
ABSOLUTELY be directed to the Bayshore Blvd.

to the waterside of Bayshore Blvd. and Finish
Line bleachers WILL NOT be allowed. Spectators
MUST either utilize the Bayshore Blvd./Plant
Ave. Bridge crossover or walk back to the Platt

• After you cross the Finish Line, DO NOT STOP.
DO NOT cross the Finish Line twice. Please
proceed to the Finisher’s Medal Distribution
Area where Volunteers will present your medal.
• Finish Line Volunteers will then direct you to
the Tampa General Hospital Medical Tent (if
necessary) and Portable Toilet Facilities.
• Zephyrhills Spring Water and Gatorade
will be available on the Platt St. Bridge.
• After taking care of your hydration needs,
please proceed to the Columbia Restaurant
Runner Revive Area that will be located on the
Tampa Convention Center Front Drive.

• There will be one Start and one Finish Aid
Station and 12-Aid Stations on-course for the
Half Marathon Aid Stations and 3-Aid Stations
for the 8K.
• Half Marathon Aid Stations will supply
Zephyrhills Spring Water and Gatorade
Endurance Formula (Lemon-Lime). The first
section of tables at every Aid Station will be
distributing Gatorade Endurance Formula
followed by tables with Zephyrhills Spring Water.
This will remain consistent at each Aid Station.
• Gatorade Endurance Carb Energy Chews will
be distributed at mile 5 & 9 of the Publix
Gasparilla Half Marathon Only. Participants are
urged to consider their individual needs and
training regimen, and if necessary, bring
additional food and hydration items.
• Portable toilets available at each Aid Station.

participants will be guided along the Riverwalk to
Cotanchobee Park for the Q105 Post-Race
Celebration, presented by Michelob Ultra.
Runner Reunite Area
• Half Marathon & 8K runners and walkers
should instruct their families to meet them on
the Riverwalk of the Tampa Convention Center.
The Riverwalk is located along the water and on
the water side of the T-ampa Convention Center.
• Please locate this area prior to the race so
that there is no confusion.
• The Finish Line Area and Columbia Restaurant
Runner Revive Area will be secure. Nonparticipants will not be allowed in this area.
Gasparilla Goes Green!
The City of Tampa Solid Waste & Environmental
Management Department will place Recyclable
Containers in the Finish Line Area.

as well as other recyclables into these
