No visitors will be accepted to school during lunch hours. 2014 Federal Report Card The U.S. Department of Education requires a report card to be disseminated annually to include specific district and campus-level data for Texas public schools. Federal Report Card for our campus is available on our school web site. Hard copies of the report are also available at front office. Cafeteria News We would like to inform all students and parents that students who have a negative lunch balance WILL BE DENIED lunch in the cafeteria. It is the parent’s responsibility to check the balance and make payments accordingly. Students will not be given warnings for nonpayment. Every student and parent can easily check their lunch balance online. Please make sure that your child has always enough money in their lunch account. Free and Reduced Lunch forms are still available at the front office. STUDENTS should not come through the lunch line if they have a negative balance. SUMMER PROGRAMS Make your summer count; going off to a summer program can make a huge difference in college admission decisions. Universities are no longer interested in just academics, they want complete students who are involved in their community. What will make you stand out from the other 10,000 applicants? Experience college life and gain credits in a summer pre-college program, get an internship with a company like Bank of America, or get paid doing research at a university. Please see below attachments for more information. Harmony Campuses Now Accepting Applications for the 2015-16 School Year! Applications available online and at campuses from January 10, 2015 until March 15, 2015 Harmony Public Schools' 43 campuses across the state are now accepting applications for admission through March 15, 2015. Applications can be submitted in person at the campus of your choice, or online. You may apply to as many campuses as you'd like, but you must submit an application at each campus. A list of campuses, their locations and websites can be found at Harmony Schools' List. HPS is an open-enrollment charter school; the only requirement for admission is that there be space available at the school. In the event there are more applicants than there are more available spaces, a lottery is held to determine who is admitted. Please call the campus of your choice for additional details, and best of luck to you! ISWEEEP May 7th -10th, 2015 George R. Brown Convention Center Houston, Texas. What is ISWEEEP? ISWEEEP, The International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, and Environment) Project, is a science fair competition and exhibition. It is the largest science fair event of its kind world-wide. I-SWEEEP is organized by Harmony Public Schools a K-12 public charter school system, with the support of leaders in the industry and higher education institutions. Competition is open to high school students from around the globe. I-SWEEEP works with local, national, and international science fair organizations to bring together top-ranking participants with qualifying projects from their own competitions. Approximately 500 young talents from more than 40 states and 70 countries across the globe, gather eagerly in Houston, the energy capital of the world. The tentative schedule can be viewed here. Celebration of Success Speech & Debate Team Achivements Considering all of the road bumps that our speech and debate team has experienced, we have definitely come quite far. Our fellow hawks have definitely proven themselves, especially at the tournament that took place at Klein HS this past weekend. Jonathan T., Tubah S., Mitchell R., and Yasmin R. all made it to Semifinals in their respective events. Sana K., Roma P., Judith P., and Samad T. all made it to Finals in their respective events. Robotics On Saturday January 31, 2015 7 Robotics Teams represented Harmony School of Advancement in FTC Qualifying Tournament and 6 of them made through the finals. Three teams were the winners and three teams were finalists. Total they got seven trophies and all six teams qualified to regional championship Science Olympiad Our school Science Olympiad Team did a great job in the invitational competition last Saturday, Jan. 17, at Langham Creek High School. Among 36 teams Lucinda B. and Brandon B. got 1st place in the event of Air Trajectory, Adam L. and Muaaz A. got 1st place in the event of Green Generation, Rohan B. and Muaaz A. got 2nd place in the event of Forensics, and Nina O. and Mason C. got 2nd place in the event of Fermi Questions.
