con-nues to be summarized as follows: KARA opposes this highway and advocates that if it is built, it be as far north as possible. The proposed highway will carve its way through protected Greenbelt land in Vaughan. Ul-mately, KARA believes that the Ministry should focus on less “car-‐centric” infrastructure. To read an ar-cle on the impacts of this highway and to add context to KARA’s posi-on, click here: metronews.ca/news/toronto/1251557/proposed-‐highway-‐to-‐pave-‐parts-‐of-‐greenbelt-‐

Ministry officials hope to come up with a preferred route by the end of the year. A preliminary design of the highway will be presented to the public in early 2017. The ministry’s goal is to complete the en-re environmental assessment process by 2018.
As these provincial highways have a huge impact on our community, we have invited Minister Del Duca to aDend our upcoming AGM on Thursday March 26th at Kleinburg Public School. Plan to join us at the AGM and hear first hand comments from the Minister.
