This is a special day for the Jesuits,
who claim today’s saint as one of
their own. It’s also a special day for
people who have a special devotion
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a devotion Claude
de la Colombière promoted, along with his friend
and spiritual companion, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. The emphasis on God’s love for all was an
antidote to the rigorous moralism of the Jansenists, who were popular at the time.

Pray for Priests and Vocations “Now we ask you to respect those who work hard among you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their
work.” (1 Thess. 5:12, 13, NIV) When we pray for vocations for the priesthood, diaconate and religious, we actually pray for ourselves, since holy priests,
deacons and religious should result in a holier people. When we pray for these servants of Christ, we also win the favor of Christ, for we, in so praying, are
furthering His work. By praying for vocations we are helping our children and our children's children because we are using a meritorious means of preserving our faith for them. “Now we ask you to respect those who work hard among you. MIDDLE SCHOOL
YOUTH GROUP
St. Stephen’s Middle School Youth Group is for youth
in grades 6, 7 & 8 and meets on Monday nights from
7:00-8:30 pm in the parish hall. I encourage parents to
have their middle school youth participate in youth
group. The middle school years are tough and it is
important that they continue their formation in the faith
and foster their relationship with Jesus. In many respects Middle School kids are on the edge because so
much is going on in their lives physically, mentally,
spiritually, and socially. It can be a very stressful and
difficult time for them and their parents. As a Catholic
Community, we have the opportunity to give our Middle School youth the EDGE they need in life: Jesus,
The Word, The Eucharist, and the Church! Tomorrow

GIRLS CONFIRMATION RETREAT

Our Confirmation girls had a beautiful retreat experience!
May the graces they received on the weekend continue to
overflow! I am in awe by the number of people it takes to
put on this retreat and the love a Thank you to Janisse
Flores and her amazing team of women for their dedication and outpouring of love to our girls so that they may
encounter Christ in a real & powerful way. Thank you to
Dan Quinan & Everado for providing our breakfasts.
Finally, what an incredible blessing to have Sr. John
Thomas & Sr. Maria Gorretti from the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in Nashville here with us this past week
to radiate the joy & love of Christ!

Lord, my God and my loving Father, you have made me
to know you, to love you, to serve you, and thereby to
find and fulfill my deepest longings. I know that you are
in all things and that every path can lead me to you. But
of them all, there is one especially by which you want me
to come to you. Since I will do what you want of me, I
pray to you, send your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind, to
show me what you want of me; into my heart, to give me
the determination to do it, and to do it with all my love,
with all my mind, and with all my strength right to the

Blogger & Speaker Dom Quaglia, Jr. are coming to
St. Stephen’s for an awesome night of Worship, Message and Adoration. Monday February 23rd @ 7:009:00pm. Come at 6:00 pm for food, games & fellowshiop. Sarah is a published Catholic Music Artist and
is well known in the Christian music genre. Dom is a
blogger, author, speaker, and youth minister based in
Atlanta, GA. After a powerful conversion in high
school and a year as a full-time missionary with Life
Teen International, he began exploring his passion for
sharing the Gospel on a larger scale. Dom now blogs
regularly for LifeTeen.com and speaks about faith and
the Gospel around the country; he also plays bass for
the Sarah Kroger Band. We are incredibly blessed to
have these talented and spirit-filled artists to our parish
community! Youth are encouraged to invite their
friends! All are welcome! The cost is free, but we will
be taking a love offering to offset the cost.

Dear Parishioners, Our parish
is not immune to vandalism or
theft and has been a victim of
these incidents. The vandalism can be as insignificant as
putting gum on the chairs,
tables and pews to as large as
breaking or the destruction of windows, doors and
landscaping. The thefts can be as small as the
taking of the Church Missals to the taking of
tables and Kitchen equipment. In any case it takes
time and money to repair or repurchase these
items. Of course we as parishioners can’t prevent
all of these events . However, we can do our part
by properly supervising of ourselves, our children
and those others that are just not doing the right
thing. Please be proactive in the care and maintenance of our parish.

We recently received 25 Prayer Booklets from Miles Christi, a religious
order of the Roman Catholic Church. There are over 50 different prayers
included in the booklet as well as information on understanding the Ten
Commandments, the Precepts of the Church, and how to make a Good Confession. Please stop by the Welcome Table and pick up one of these free
booklets.

BEREAVEMENT CORNER:
Let us not forget that our returning veterans as
well as past veterans undergo their own grieving process. This process could involve grieving the death of a soldier to struggling with moral injuries to the loss of
the military life. As part of our bereavement ministry we wish to reach out to these
wonderful people who have defended our nation. If any one of you know of a veteran that needs help, please refer them to Penny Blazej 760-685-3403. God Bless.

Queridos feligreses, nuestra parroquia no es inmune
al vandalismo o robo y ha sido víctima de estos incidentes. El vandalismo puede ser tan insignificante
como la goma en las sillas, mesas y bancos para tan
grandes como la rotura o la destrucción de ventanas,
puertas y el paisajismo. Los robos pueden ser tan
pequeños como tomada de la los Misales de la Iglesia ha la tomada
de las mesas y equipo de Cocina. En cualquier caso se necesita
tiempo y dinero para reparar o comprar estos articúlos. Por
supuesto, como los feligreses no se puede evitar todos estos eventos. Sin embargo, podemos hacer nuestra parte de supervisión de
nosotros, nuestros hijos y aquellas otras que no están haciendo lo
correcto. Por favor, ser proactivo en el cuidado y mantenimiento de
nuestra parroquia.
