SSEF ATS ISEF 6 Items at Display Booth You are not allowed to display awards, medals, business cards, flags, logos (including names of schools and research institutes), CD’s, endorsements and/or acknowledgements (graphic or written), or have them on any display item (including poster, laptop, log book), during Final Judging Day. SSEF ATS ISEF 7 Poster Reflects the research done in 2014 only Title of your project should be clearly displayed Use font sizes that could be read from at least 1m away All images, graphs, photos must be acknowledged. e.g. “photograph taken by…” , “all photographs were self-taken” or “Image taken from…”, “graph were self-drawn…” SSEF ATS ISEF 8 Poster Be organised – display follows a sequence, is logically presented and easy to read Title of Project, Abstract, Introduction, Aim, Hypothesis, Method, Results, Conclusion, Future Research, References should be properly and concisely displayed No references to H3 projects allowed (examination labels, candidate index, title of H3 programme and examining agency must be removed) SSEF ATS ISEF 9 Poster Template Title of Project Name of Student(s) Research Institution Logo Name of Mentor(s) with contact details, if necessary School Logo SSEF ATS ISEF 10 Not allowed Title of Project Name of Student(s) Research Institution Logo Name of Mentor(s) with contact details, if necessary School Logo SSEF ATS ISEF 11 “Image taken from..” “All images were self drawn…” SSEF ATS ISEF 12 Project ID “All graphs were self drawn” SSEF ATS ISEF 13 Project Set-Up (10 Mar, Tues, 2pm – 5pm) Upon completion, tidy up immediate vicinity SSEF officials will inspect your display (poster / exhibits / laptops / log books) before leaving Sticker labels will be given for every item cleared for display After inspection, no changes to the display set up is allowed without approval from SSEF official No valuables (including laptop) should be left behind Science Centre reserves the right to keep the displays of winners SSEF ATS ISEF 14 Final Judging Day (11 Mar) 9am – 6pm (All participants must be present) Report at Annexe Foyer by 8.30am (Doors only open at 8.15am) Attire – School uniform with blazer Collect your SSEF ID tag & collar pin and wear them at all times Lunch will be provided (1 pm – 2 pm, announcement will be made) SSEF ATS ISEF 15 Final Judging Day (11 Mar) Remain at your booth until your project has been judged by all assigned judges. Judges will sign on your card (to be given to you on that day). Proceed to Registration Point with the card after your project has been judged by all assigned judges. If you need to go to the restroom, inform participants next to your booth and return promptly to your booth. SSEF ATS ISEF 16 Final Judging Day (11 Mar) You may bring reading materials but games, cards and expensive personal items are not allowed. Do not remove the display posters from the booth at the end of the day. Keep booth and area around tidy and clean. Do not block walkways or create traffic. Keep noise level down at all times. Be considerate for others. Students with multiple projects, bring along a sign to indicate which booth you are at. SSEF ATS ISEF 17 Advice for Final Judging Day Don’t deliver a lengthy presentation Keep your presentation to about 3 min: focus on the unique ‘selling’ point of your project Judges may interrupt your presentation at any time to ask questions, so be alert and adaptable Be polite to judges at all times; seek to clarify if you are unclear Take this opportunity as learning from experts in the field of your research SSEF ATS ISEF 18 Judging Criteria for SSEF 2015 Research Question / Problem Design and methodology 10% Execution 25% 20% Creativity 20% Written Report / Poster 25% SSEF ATS ISEF 19 Public Visitation Day (12 Mar) Register at Annexe Foyer at 10am Attire – School uniform with blazer Wear your SSEF ID Tag at all times Lunch will be provided from 12.30pm to 1.30pm Open to schools & the public from 10.30am to 5.30pm Be present at your booth at all times Engage visitors by explaining your project to them Be polite at all times: you are an ambassador of your school SSEF ATS ISEF 20 Public Visitation Day (12 Mar) You may bring reading materials but games, cards and expensive personal items are not allowed Permission must be sought from SSEF officials before you are allowed to leave your booth Encourage teachers, students, friends and relatives to visit the Fair – Free Admission! SSEF ATS ISEF 21 Public Visitation Day (12 Mar) A series of STEM-related Career Talks has been organised for you: 1pm – 3.30pm at Centre Stage, Annexe Hall, Science Centre SSEF ATS ISEF 22 Public Visitation Day (12 Mar) Results of SSEF 2015 will be announced only on 12 March 2015: 11am: ISEF winners (presented by Special Guest) 3.30pm - 5.30pm: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Special & Broadcom MASTERS winners Possible media coverage of event – some of you could be interviewed! All exhibition materials must be removed the once announcement is made. All students must leave the hall by 6pm. Students are shortlisted based on the nominations by the judges. Shortlisted students will be informed on the evening of 11 Mar (Wed) and will undergo an interview on 12 Mar (Thu) between 8.30am and 10am at Science Centre. SSEF ATS ISEF 25 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2015 6 projects will be chosen from the winners of SSEF 2015 to represent Singapore in ISEF 2015 in Pittsburgh, USA Students must be Singaporeans or PRs 10 – 15 May 2015 More information at: https://student.societyforscience.org/intelinternational-science-and-engineering-fair-2015 SSEF ATS ISEF Broadcom MASTERS International Delegate To encourage, reward and celebrate the mastery of science, technology, engineering and math among secondary school students. To be selected from students in the Science Mentorship Programme (SMP) or Sec students only. If a team project is selected, the delegate will be based on the nomination of the school. SSEF ATS ISEF 27 ATS Short-listing (31 Mar) Only ATS participants who have won an SSEF award will be invited for short-listing. You will receive an email notification by 20 Mar 2015 with the judging schedule and venue. Short-listing will take the format of short 15 min interviews with a panel of judges. Bring your project poster and log book to show to the judges. SSEF ATS ISEF 28 ATS Final Judging (21 Apr) If you have been short-listed as a finalist on 31 Mar 2015, you will be invited to attend the final judging. You will receive an email notification by 3 Apr 2015 with the judging schedule and venue. The final judging will take the format of 30 min interview with a panel of judges. Prepare a 5 min PowerPoint presentation for the interview.
