CMS reception on Wednesday, 23 Sept. 2015 at the south entrance to the exhibition grounds Midday snack on Thursday, 24 Sept. 2015 in the conference area Coffee breaks Markus Asch President EUnited Cleaning Susanne Zänker, A.I.S.E Director General Since the most recent CMS in 2013 this event has been an important international platform for our industry. Consequently the bar has been set high for CMS 2015 because of the raised expectations of visitors and exhibitors. In order to meet these expectations and in particular to develop the international dimension of this event, the highlight of his year’s supporting event will be the second staging of the CMS Congress. Cleanliness and hygiene in any place outside the home would be impossible without the products and services provided by the companies that make up the professional cleaning and hygiene sector. It is these companies that make the detergent and maintenance products and services that help to ensure hygienic hospital equipment, safe food and beverage production, healthy public transport environments, and clean and pleasant offices. Under the heading of „People and the Market“ prominent speakers from all over the world will be explaining our industry’s trends and challenges, including the competition to attract talent, demographic changes and the wide-ranging subject of sustainability. This is also a subject which we are dealing with in depth in our industry association EUnited. The example of „Green Cleaning“, i.e. the establishment of binding guidelines for environmentally acceptable cleaning systems, is just one area in which companies should act with greater cohesion and speak with a single voice. A.I.S.E., the International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products, is the voice of this industry at European level, interacting in close dialogue with EU Authorities and – through its strong network of National Associations – reaching out to National Authorities and stakeholders. Together, we represent more than 440 companies in Europe (85% being SMEs) involved in the professional cleaning market, with a turnover of 6.6 bn euros. Let us not forget that our industry also bears a great responsibility. Cleanliness and hygiene are basic human requirements and form a vital foundation for various business models. Efficient solutions in cleaning technology therefore play a key role in many areas, and are certainly not confined to large kitchens and hospitals. Therefore a wealth of opportunities are available to our industry for focussing on specific problems and for tackling global hygiene and cleanliness challenges in an efficient and environmentally conscious way. Make the most of the chances offered by this year’s CMS Congress in order to make contact with experts and colleagues from within the industry, to exchange ideas and obtain inspiration. I wish you every success at this trade show, and hope that the CMS Congress 2015 will provide you with some fascinating insights. Companies in the professional cleaning sector of A.I.S.E. contribute – together with their other partners from related sectors – to securing high levels of cleanliness and – where appropriate – disinfection in any place outside the home, helping to reduce or eliminate contact with serious and potentially fatal infection agents. The CMS congress will be the opportunity for all actors of the sector to learn more on critical issues and engage, interact on those, whether on regulatory matters (such as REACH, CLP, Biocides), or sustainability matters. Those topics are at the heart of A.I.S.E.’s daily work, to help secure a common level playing field for the professional sector in Europe. I wish you a nice congress ! 2. International CMS Congress People and Business Bengt Jödahl, President of European Federation of Cleaning Industries The CMS is the most important trade show on Europe’s largest cleaning market. It provides the ideal platform for exhibitors and trade visitors from Germany and from many other countries to exchange knowledge and experience. Following its successful introduction two years ago we can again expect to welcome prominent speakers from all over the world to this year’s International Congress. Worldwide challenges facing the industry will be presented and discussed under the heading of “People and the Market“. The importance of cleaning and hygiene is increasing all the time. The requirements for constantly improved standards of hygiene not only call for the ongoing development of cleaning methods and techniques, but also for highly trained cleaning personnel. The central issue on the first day of the congress will be that of demographic change and the accompanying lack of specialists in our industry. We are keenly interested in finding out what training paths are available, for example, in Asia or Africa. During the second day the congress will discuss such topical issues as hospital hygiene and sustainable hygiene management, as well as cross-border requirements. To round off a wide-ranging congress programme, leading experts will be discussing the development potential for the cleaning industry on high volume markets.
