Thoughts from Fanny...
Dear Church Folks,
Guess what I saw this week - a sign that said “Spring is
just around the corner.” Well, it still wasn’t around any
corner here in Penns Creek. I’m looking forward to seeing
and feeling the sun on a regular basis. Have you noticed
how warm the sun feels when it does shine? Yeah! It
can’t be too much longer to warm weather. After all, today is March 1st!
This was a sad week around here. Bro. and Sis. Tim Cooley, Sr. attend here
when they are not away in ministry. They burried their two-year-old grandson
this week. How sad! However, he is safe in the arms of Jesus. No more pain,
no cares, and no trouble. You especially need to remember all of the Cooleys in
prayer this week. I’m sure they would appreciate your prayers. Mrs. Cooley
could also use prayer for her physical. Tim Cooley, Jr., their son, also works at
Penn View. I’m sure he and his wife, Amy, will need your prayer support as
they face the weeks ahead. Tabitha is in South Africa. The Walter’s are the
grandparents on the other side of the family. He pastors a church and I’m sure
he would also appreciate your prayers. If you couldn’t get to the funeral, it is
archived on our church web site. You can attend the funeral by watching it
there. Did you know that he was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery right
here at Mt. Rd. GMC? He was. His body is awaiting the trumpet call to arise
with others from that cemetery. That is a blessed hope to many.
In my chewing around this week, I found something I thought I would share
with you today. May it be a blessing to you. Who knows what this week holds.
Here is the quote for you to think about:
“The acid test of our faith in the promises of God is never
found in the easygoing, comfortable ways of life, but in the great
emergencies, the times of storm and of stress, the days of
adversity, when all human aid fails.” -Ethel Bell
I missed seeing you on Wednesday night this week. It was lonely around here. I
didn’t even have the school kids meeting here for Chapel. You see, there is
always so much going on around here. This week with the Penn View Revival, I
missed seeing many of you. I trust you enjoyed the revival and the preaching of
Rev. Durkee and the singing by the Durkees. I hear you had some excellent
services. No doubt some eternal business was done in the services.
Don’t forget! The ladies will be meeting on Tuesday evening in the modular. I
will look forward to seeing you. I’m a lady and I plan to be there. I will enjoy
the crumbs you leave behind.
Be sure to pray for Rev. & Mrs. Wetherald as they adjust to this area and this
church. I’m enjoying the services, the messages, the songs, and them being
here. Let them know you feel the same.
Sincerely,
Fanny
P.S. Be sure to move your clocks ahead one hour Sat. night.
