During the first Persian Gulf War, the late Peter
Jennings of ABC News interviewed an Iraqi couple living
in Indiana who already had one son which they named
Sadaam Hussein. During the war, they had a second
son which they named George Bush.
Peter Jennings asked the couple, "Why do you have one
son named Sadaam Hussen and one son named George
Bush." they responded, “we were hoping that Hussein
and Bush would become brothers."
This is the goal of the gospel. To see friend and foe
united under the cross. Saint Francis of Assisi once
said, "preach always and occasionally use words."
Let's be the light of the world Scripture calls us to be.
We can change the world one person at a time. Let
the fire of the Gospel burn in your heart so that
others may be ignited.
John Wesley was asked once, why he saw countless
numbers come to Jesus for salvation. He responded,
"I light myself on fire with God's word and people show
up to watch me burn." Carry the torch of the Gospel
wherever you go, and light up the world!
