PEABODY COUNCIL ON AGING
CATHERINE ‘KAY’ MORROCCO SECRETARY OF
FRIENDS AND TRIAD REPORTS - MARCH 2015
The Friends Annual Appeal for Funds Is Underway,
Don’t Delay, Respond Today!
Enrollment Cards to renew your Membership or to become a
new Member-at-large or a Business Member of the “Friends of
the PCOA” have been mailed to more than 11,000 people in
Peabody and to thirty-five (35) other Cities and/or Towns in our
State, as well as to 32 people in twelve (12) other States.
How about that, as Chairperson I am delighted.
Although the terrible snow storms in February delayed taking
the Enrollment Packets to the Post Office, kudos to all the Postal
Workers involved, throughout the State, for their remarkable
service in delivering them in such horrendous conditions.
The ‘Friends’ Board of Directors join me in thanking the
following Volunteers who spent many hours with me
preparing the Enrollment Packets for this enormous mailing.
They are: Ann Blazewicz, Russell and Marion Bowden,
Marion Bradbury, Lorraine Call, Mary Coan, Barbara Cyr,
Kaellen D’Amour, Dahria Dylingowski, Claire Edmands,
Alice Gallagher, Beth Georgeopoulos, Marion Graves, Bob
and Patricia Hall, Beatriz Gutierrez, Jacques Hatchouel,
Judy Isom, Geri Jenkins, Joan Johnson, Maureen Keenan,
Helen Lang, Tina Manolakos, Joe Mendonca, Andy and
Georgia Metropolis, Ruth Moore, Carol Murtagh, Amelia
Ogiba, Shirley Parish, Natalie Rabitski, Ann Sacco, Phyllis
Silke, Suzan Taubert, Bill Toomey, Janice Blanchette and
Lillian Wright.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the “Young at Heart” Seniors, many years ago I shared
with you a ‘Guardian Angel Prayer’ I learned as a child.
I recently received, from a dear Friend, a lovely prayer that
I would like to share with you also.
Perhaps, you know it.
Dear Lord and Father
Take my hand and guide me through the night.
Let me rest in peaceful slumber until the morning light.
If I know that you are with me, I can conquer any fear.
My concerns and all my worries are forgotten when You are near.
So please, be there beside me until I wake and know,
My Savior and my Master is there and loves me so.
Amen
HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY
WHICH RESULTED IN
THE CLOSING OF THE SENIOR CENTER
SEVERAL TIMES, ALL ‘FRIENDS’
MEMORIALS WILL BE POSTED IN THE
WE THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING
AND ESPECIALLY FOR DONATING.
New Courtesy Services
ACTION Ambulance Service
This has been one of the most
difficult winters in recent memory.
The Senior Center has had to close
our doors for 5 different snow events.
At this point in time we would like to
offer a free phone call to your home or
cell phone number in the event that the
Senior Center is closed.
The free phone call services are
provided by ACTION Ambulance.
We do announce closing on the
local radio station 104.9 but this
service would give you a phone call to
announce the closing. The service can
also provide a reminder phone call
when we are closed for a legal holiday
as well. We can also offer an
enhanced service so you would
receive a daily wellness call.
Please call the Senior Center at
978-531-2254 for more information.
This is a new program to assist
seniors to stay safe and remain living
independently in our community.
